“Nicest apartment we've stayed in”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2012

We arrived at the apartments expecting a beautiful place after reading reviews on this site ( apart from the last one !? ), we certainly weren't disappointed. The apartments are very very spacious - nice size lounge/dining area, good size kitchen, double bedroom, twin bedroom, toilet/washbasin room, toilet/bidet/washbasin/shower bathroom. And the largest balcony/patio area we've ever had.
On our arrival the owner was very freindly and helpful, and he was forever smiling and chatting to guests. There was a bottle of red wine and a bottle of water waiting for us when we got into the apartment - nice touch I thought.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and in very good decorative order, air conditioning was very effective & quiet. apart from one bulb out on the patio everything worked perfectly well.
The pool and sundeck area was also kept very clean, and there was always plenty of room and sun loungers available when we were there even though apartments were all full being the peak season. Just a warning though, the pool deck can be slippery when it gets wet, we saw a couple of kids go flying - but they were running about.
The secure underground car park was a bonus having travelled in a ragtop, we didn't need to put the roof up during our stay, knowing that car was safe at night. Probably would have been safe outside anyway as it is a very quiet aea, albeit only a ten minute stroll into town.
Not too sure what the cleaning and linen change routine is, but we didn't have any in our stay ( 9 nights ) , not a problem though as the well fitted out kitchen has a washing machine. I think they clean apartments before every new arrival, or on request.
I would not hesitate to return there, and we probably will do sometime.
The first bar you'll come to when you go into the town is "Harveys bar & grill", if you want a fairly simple no frills meal & a drink or 3 at a reasonable price then this isn't a bad choice. It is owned and run by a very freindly couple from Torquay and being there for 13 years they have very good local knowledge about places to visit and eat or drink.

Room Tip: We can only say that our apartment - #1 was excellent, on the pool side of the block on level one, s...

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Albir area, I would highly recommend you stay at Albir Palace Apartments. The accommodation is by far the cleanest, most modern and best value for money that I have ever stayed. The staff are wonderful and are extremely helpful.

An excellent, well ran property.

Many Thanks to Henry and his team for a lovely relaxing stay.

Having been travelling to Albir for the last 13 years, this was an area we knew extremely well. When we returned this year we could only stay in the villa for 2 weeks, and out flights was for 14 days, so we had to spend an extra two days somewhere else, so we decided to go to Albir Palace Apartments, and thank goodness it was only a few short days. I make no mistake, very modern apartments which look lovely when you first see them, but after being there for a while to "suss" things out you get to see what they are really like. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. We also had to use the sofa bed which was disgusting. The sheets had not been changed on it and it was full of other people's hair etc. The kitch was fine, no problems there. The upstairs roof-top is not private what so ever either, you only have to lift your leg and you could be in the apartment next door, no secuirty here at all. Lots of screaming children running about the place too and even at midnight to the early hours of the morning. All I can say is thank goodness it was only for 2 days, I would not recommend any of my friends/family to stay here and I will not be returning in the future

We stayed at the Albir Palace for Christmas and New Year. I have to say that the Albir Palace is a fantastic place to stay, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay here. It has everything you would want for a long or short stay.
It is situated in L'Albir a few miles north of Benidorm, and is in a quiet residential area. The view from our balcony was fantastic, and we had the sun all day. We were also fortunate enough to have a private sun deck above our apartment, which would be welcome on really hot days in the summer and the views from here were fantastic. We watched all the firework displays at New Year from here.. truly memorable.
We met several Dutch and Scandinavian couples during our stay and they were always very happy to talk to us. The apartment itself was like a home from home, with a very modern, comfortable feel. The beds were extremely comfortable. For those with wifi equipment, you couldn't ask for a better service.. a totally reliable connection, and FREE! We were actually able to watch TV from home using an iPad + adapter and connecting it to the HDMI input on the Flat Screen TV. (please feel free to email me for details on how to do this)
The lady who looked after the apartments was very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for her. The apartments had all the equipment necessary to be totally self-sufficient, with a cooker (with full size oven and grill), Fridge Freezer, Washing Machine (a godsend - you certainly don't need to bring too many clothes), microwave, kettle, Aircon / heating, and safe (free). Only thing not supplied was a Hairdryer... Maid Service was once every four days, which was fine for us. It is 15 Mins walk to centre or the seafront. There are 2 or 3 large supermarkets in the centre. Having a car is helpful if you want to get out and about, but there is a good bus service... a No.10 bus will get you into Benidorm or Altea.. I believe it costs about 1.25 euros each and runs every 15 minutes. The apartments have FREE car parking in a secure covered garage area under the apartments, and there is also a lift to the top floor. From the seafront, you can walk into Altea which has a very vibrant shopping area, and some lovely seafront cafes and restaurants.
Be careful when in Benidorm as there is always the occassional crime going on.. nothing to be worried about , but it's just like any big city.. just take sensible precautions.. be observant... protect your valuables and keep to the main areas..the reason I mention this is that we were parked in a very quiet back street, away from the main areas, and we are pretty certain that we were targeted by a couple of males, but we managed to get in our car, locked the doors and drove off before they had an opportunity to approach us. Like I said, this is not the norm., so it's not something to be overly concerned about. Benidorm is still a great place for just about everything you could want from a holiday.. entertainment, drinking, eating, shopping, chilling out etc. ...all at competitive prices.. e.g. we had a 3-course special at the Yorkshire Pride 1 in Calle Gerona on the Levante side for less than 10 euros each, and we were stuffed (see my separate review onTripadvisor).

Would I stay at these apartments again? Absolutely! 100 percent YES!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on south side if you want the sun all day.
