We visited this temple, early morning, so there was no much crowd and had a peaceful and a lengthy darshan of Lord Vishnu, in standing posture along with Markandeya and Bhoomi devi. The temple is big and very old, traditionally built, by the cholas and the Tanjore Nayaks. Felt very happy and peaceful after the darshan. There was an elephant at the entrance, giving blessings to the devotees. There is a temple with lot of fishes and you are allowed to feed them.

Visited the temple around 10:45 hrs. Chose to pay for the Special Dharshan but the regular queue would've sufficed. The priest were polite and didn't rush through the service and most certainly did not demand money once they scented a NRI. The temple elephant was a big attraction for the kids, it would bless them on their head if you gave it a Re. 1/- coin. The prasadam we purchased stayed fresh all the way until Chennai.

I have visited this temple with family & friends. The main deity - Lord Krishna was so wonderful to see. The poojas were performed well in the temple, we visited the temple on Saturday morning, so it was more crowded, but really we had a good darshan. Got a real divine feel in the temple.
