Three of us went for lunch. The food was very well presented, flavoursome and hot. I had the tempura prawns with stir fried vegetables - very tasty, although seven prawns for £16.00? A bit steep. The only downer was being asked twice if we had ordered (after we had ordered) and the order being taken down incorrectly, which meant we were sitting at the table for a long wait before being served. The staff should talk to each other.
It was a busy place, so that speaks for itself. We have been there a couple of times before in the last two or so years and it's definitely been brought up to date and modernised - both the décor & the food!

Dear ObservantPerson
Thank you for your review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your lunch, though I am very sorry that there was some confusion over your order meaning that you had a long wait for your food. We are pleased that you still enjoyed your meal and we hope that you will visit us again very soon. I am so pleased that you have dined with us on a number of occasions and next time you are in, if you have not joined already, please ask one of the team about our restaurant loyalty scheme where you can gain points each time you dine with us, and is redeemable in both Marwick’s Brasserie and the Millstream Restaurant. We hope to see you again soon.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds which are well cared for. Millstream has two restaurants providing for formal and less formal dining. The dinner menu is varied daily with emphasis on seafood although carnivores are well catered for. Dishes show originality and are subject to thoughtful presentation. Staffing in all departments is professional and courteous but not stuffy with a preparedness to go ""the extra mile"

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the garden.

Dear Colin C
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the food and found the team to be delightful. They all work so hard to ensure that our guests have an enjoyable stay and are really pleased that you thought they went “the extra mile”. I am pleased that you enjoyed both the Millstream Restaurant with its 2 AA rosettes, as well as Marwick’s Brasserie, for more informal dining. Both restaurants prove very popular and many of our guests like the variety the two restaurants bring to their stay. We look forward to welcoming you back to Bosham again very soon.

My husband booked a 2-night break as an anniversary celebration and it was a great choice. All the staff were extremely friendly and it was lovely to be offered a complimentary glass of wine on arrival. Both dinners were fantastic, we liked the idea of different "specials" each night, and the breakfasts were freshly prepared and delicious! The room was adequate though I suspect others would be better. The hotel gardens are beautiful and well worth a walk round. Next time we'll book a room overlooking these or even one with a patio!

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms overlook the garden.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your surprise anniversary treat here at the Millstream. All of our bedrooms are individually decorated, and the rooms with their own gardens are very popular during the summer! We are so pleased that you enjoyed the dinners, and enjoyed the different specials on each night, which give more variety to our guests who are staying with us for more than one night. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again very soon, and if you call one of our receptionists to make your booking, they will be delighted to advise you on your room choice.

Located astride a bubbling mill stream this charming family run hotel delivers more than expected. From the complementary glass of wine on arrival through to the home-made shortbreads in the room. Confident and well informed staff, pleasant, if a little traditional, rooms and a wonderful garden setting make this a most delightful choice for a break. Check out the thatched cottage in the garden. Perfect. And that's before you discover the delights of Bosham.

From our arrival, when we were immediately offered a welcoming drink, to our departure three days later, all the staff were professionally friendly and helpful. The test of an excellent hotel for me is the quality of the scrambled eggs at breakfast - these were among the best. The superb quality of dinner was heralded by the arrival of the most creative 'amuse-bouche' each evening. Every course was a delight, cooked to perfection and served with charm and efficiency. The attractive rooms were all of a high standard with plenty of storage space, good beds and comfortable chairs.

The gardens surrounding The Millstream with well placed seating and tables, are beautifully landscaped, planted and maintained, and, if desired, there is separate accommodation in these grounds.

In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked another break!

Thank you for your lovely review. We are absolutely delighted that you had such an enjoyable stay. I will pass your compliments on to the kitchen team who will be exceptionally pleased that you thought the meals were cooked to perfection and found the breakfast scrambled eggs to be among the best you have had in a hotel.
The team and I are so pleased that you liked the hotel so much, enjoying both the rooms, and managing to spend time in the gardens too. We are thrilled that you have already booked to come again and look forward to seeing you again very soon!

Charming hotel in a charming part of England. I am gluten intolerant and the staff were amazing in coming up with Gluten free bread so I could have their excellent crab sandwich for lunch. Again they were prepared to try and find gluten free flour for fish and chips if I wished it in the evening. In the end we went for fine dinning and I was given a quick list of what I could have. Their was smoked curd cheese with salt baked beetroot on the menu as a starter and that was outstanding. The staff were so kind to ensure I had gluten free bread as a side dish and the kitchen were happy to tell me which wood they used to smoke the cheese, even giving me a tip as to how long to smoke the cheese for. Our room was lovely with a four poster bed and breakfast just as pleasant. I would certainly recommend this place. The staff were a gem. Thank you.

This was the fourth time we've been to the Millstream, though it's some years since we were last there: this time we had other family with us and had a standard room and also the Garden Suite (the suite on the ground floor of the main building) for two nights. We really enjoyed our stay: the rooms are excellent, with comfortable beds, and intelligently laid out (so often, hotel rooms haven't been thought out, with a lack of storage, chairs or lighting). Service was excellent, subject to one minor glitch: i'd asked for a room for ourselves near the Garden Suite, and it wasn't, but a room swap was quickly arranged. We ate both nights in Marwick's, the brasserie, which has been formed since we were last there, and really liked both the men and the food. The breakfasts were also good.

Dear Verulam
Thank you for your lovely review, we are thrilled that we are one of your favourite hotels. I apologise about the mix up in the room allocation before your arrival, but pleased that we were able to quickly rectify the situation for you. We are delighted that you liked the new addition of Marwick’s Brasserie, and chose to dine in there on both evenings and enjoyed the breakfasts too. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Millstream again very soon.
