We were pleasantly surprised at this hotel. The location is lovely, just a few minutes walk from the inlet at Bosham and a 15/20 minute drive from Goodwood racecourse. The rooms are a little chintzy but clean and very comfortable. We are a bit snooty about hotel rooms but didn't have an issue with these despite low expectations from the photos. The rest of the hotel is really lovely..pretty gardens and modern, nicely decorated restaurant, lounge and bar areas. The food in the brasserie was of a high standard and the staff efficient and friendly throughout our stay. We would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms are chintzy but clean and comfortable. Very traditional but rest of hotel very nicely decorate...

Dear louise t
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, and that you liked the recently refurbished bar, lounge and restaurant. As a small hotel, we continuously aim to improve standards throughout the hotel, and as all of the bedrooms are individually decorated, we are in the process of preparing for the redesign of two of our bedrooms which will take place in January. We look forward to welcoming you back again very soon.

We spent three days here last week and really enjoyed it. The hotel is quite old fashioned and our room was very small, but we managed, although opening a luggage rack proved to be impossible, if you wanted to go the bathroom, which was almost the same size as the bedroom. We were lucky to be on the ground floor with a patio area, with the doors open, it felt a bit less claustrophobic..The main restaurant is very good and the food most enjoyable. However, although the waiters were very helpful, they were not allocated to specific tables,so things got very confusing and it all seemed, because they were busy, to be more a case of crisis management. This may be the fault of the Restaurant Manager, we weren't sure. Breakfast was the least successful, because the buffet table was very dull - the whole thing needs upgrading. The cooked breakfast was very nice, but again not special. We would go back but we'd make sure we had a bigger room.

Room Tip: We would recommend room 33 or the garden suite.

Dear tiskerman
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your recent stay with us. I am sorry that you found your room to be very small. All of the rooms are different sizes and also individually decorated, so please do not hesitate to speak with one of our receptionists when you next book with us, and they will be able to advise you of the different rooms which may suit you better. We are pleased that you enjoyed the food, though sorry that you found the service to be confusing. The size and nature of the restaurant means that we do not allocate tables to the waiters, and instead they work together as a team to serve the entire restaurant and this usually works very well. I am sorry that on this occasion, you felt that the service was not as expected. We hope to be able to welcome you back again very soon.

An excellent hotel which we revisited in May 2014. Ideal location. Pleasant gardens surround the hotel. First class dining experience. Excellent for visiting local attractions including Portsmouth Dockyard. Will certainly visit again.

Stayed for 2 Night's during bank holiday weekend. Excellent service and the restaurant food very pleasant.
A great spot for exploring the Chichester Harbour area.
We used the hotel as a base from which we went to Goodwood races only 20 mins drive away.

Just an overnight stop but very pleased we stayed here. Hotel staff couldn't be more helpful; restaurant food excellent value; room very spacious with huge bed. Bosham itself is lovely; the low to high tide transformation is stunning.

A set menu with great food however not much choice. If you are an adult it's great but if you have fussy children I would not recommend going as they won't like the food on offer. However the scenery and staff where very helpful and they knew everything that was going on overall if you don't have kids 5 stars but for a family occasion it is only 4.

Dear andrewjarmaine
We are pleased that you thought the food was great, though sorry that it did not suit your children. We do offer a separate children’s menu alongside the Millstream’s 2 AA rosette menu, and the chefs are always prepared to serve plainer dishes when requested. We hope to be able to welcome you back to the Millstream again soon, and please do not hesitate to discuss the different options for children’s meals with the restaurant manager who will be happy to advise you of any suitable alternatives.

The Millstream Hotel looked very nice from what my wife and I could see when we found it on the internet whilst looking for somewhere to stay in or near Chichester. We usually look for B&B in the £80 - £100 per night bracket but, unusually 'flush with cash', (relatively speaking - we are not rich!), we decided to try something much more expensive and 'took the plunge', booking four nights here.
Reflecting on our stay we can honestly say it was a very positive experience, from the politeness of the staff to the dining experience and on to our room, which was spotlessly serviced, spacious, and comfortable. Also, as a base from which to explore the surrounding area it is ideally located. We would re-visit again if ever we found ourselves looking for accommodation in this area.

Room Tip: The hotel has a pleasant garden with a stream running through it. Some rooms overlook the garden, ot...
