A lovely place to stay

An unusual hotel in an unusual old village, 4 minutes walk from the splendid tidal water edge and walks. Staff exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Beds very comfortable, food and wine excellent. Electric car charger efficient and appreciated.

Faultless. The starter, main and desert were all exquisite. The bean soup was remarkable. The fillet of steak was perfect, veg bursting with flavour and the home-made ice cream creative but not pretentious.

I haven't eaten such good food in a restaurant for a long time.

Oh and the Rioja, £35.00 a bottle was beautiful, and well priced.

The staff were professional, attentive and welcoming. The dining room and bar cosy, warm and relaxing.

        Dear juni0ni,

Many thanks for the review and feedback on our food. The Sea School restaurant has once again just been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for the twelfth consecutive year.

Head Chef Neil and his team take immense pride in the quality of food and we glad you found it faultless.

We hope you get the opportunity to return in 2024 and experience some different seasonal produce on the menu.

        Best wishes,

        Millstream Hotel

The staff in the hotel were amazing, so helpful and friendly. We had a newly refurbished room No 9 which was so comfortable and spacious. Also the best shower I think I have ever had! Lovely fluffy towels and crisp sheets as well as individual toiletries, which are much nicer than the impossible things fixed to the wall. The food was excellent and breakfast menu was extensive and covered all tastes. Definitely a return visit will happen.

        The Millstream Hotel.
What a brilliant hotel. Our Nauticat Sailing Association had our end of season Laying up Lunch there. As my wife and I were traveling a long way I asked if our room could be available early, 10am and a disabled parking space. The reception could not have been more helpful, the parking space, no problem, the room they will do their best. They succeeded, all was in place when we arrived.
The hotel is beautifully furnished, with various areas for dining and relaxing the staff exceptional and the food excellent.
We stayed one night in a ground floor room with a walk in shower and enjoyed a delicious breakfast before we left. I’m sure we will be back.

We were delighted to bring our elderly guest who was a Bosham resident and a customer of more than 50 years.
She still visits whenever anyone can drive her to the Millstream.
I've only had that pleasure on the odd occasion for the last 8 years.
One aspect of the menu was always high on my choice list to eat…a 'proper' fish dish.
The Millstream could be counted upon to produce such a quality dish.

The heading of the menu focuses on fish, there’s even a whole one wrapped with something that could be tasty with suggested vegetable garnishes. I had come to expect either a fresh river trout, a lemon sole, supreme of hake or transom of halibut, or similar. All were either poached with a delightful fish reduction sauce, or a good meunier with beurre noisette or grilled with an appropriate garnish. It was always the case…but not today!
I thought the kitchen could be demonstrating its creative and culinary skills but …no! It was fish and chips or fish pie….more like pub grub. Not the Millstream's quality of fresh fish dishes……….what a shame.
I was a little disappointed…..that said, my guests very much enjoyed their lunch.

        Dear GeraldD863,

Many thanks for your review and feedback on Marwick’s Brasserie. This is our casual dining concept and is a separate restaurant to the more formal 2 AA Rosette Sea School Restaurant.

The Marwick’s menu is updated throughout the seasons and we do have plenty of fresh shellfish and fish during the spring and summer month but going into winter, offer more in the way of fish cakes, fish pies and fish and chips, with fresh fish used throughout. We also have specials of grilled local fish when available.

We hope you get to visit us again in the future and perhaps try the Sea School Restaurant for a more formal and fine dining experience.

        Best wishes,

        Marwick’s Brasserie

About 40 Nimbus Owners Club had a pre-ordered lunch, many choices, here. It was amazing that with so many diners it all arrived at the table in a very timely manner. The staff were unfailingly cheerful and helpful at all times. The first courses were generous and well presented, even the blue cheese souffle was hot and perfectly risen. There was an apple based amuse bouch between the courses. I only noticed half way through my main that I had been given the wrong dish! That's how good the fillet of bream was. I should have been served the Hake. I will have that next time. The deserts were delicious, colourful and eye catching. Coffee and chocolate were served and we were all having such a good time that we probably overstayed our welcome, did not leave until four. The staff did not seem to mind. Thank you Millstream - a good lunch and get together. Next week - Marwicks Brasserie.

Room tip: The food is excellent value. The wine less so.

Many thanks for the lunch review of your group of 40. We are glad you all had a wonderful time and enjoyed each of the courses - despite yourself having fillet of bream instead of hake!

We look forward to seeing you at Marwick's Brasserie.
