The children enjoyed the ride round the park , not expensive , the railway runs weekends and school holidays. All by volunteers, they make it fun for the children, nice carriages some have covers.

Decided to take my 2 1/2 year old for a visit to RVCP and a ride on the train. Checked times online as it was a bank holiday all seemed ok. Arrived, sign outside saying open at 11 however, when 11 came and went I went to enquire and was told that "as it was wet the train cannot run and more to the point the driver didn't like getting wet". Pathetic, you are supposed to be an attraction advertised as rain and shine, great way to let down a small child and family who had travelled for some distance to visit. On the plus side, plenty of muddy puddles to jump in!

The park is stunning and great walks for a day out especially if you take a picnic like we did. The train ride just finished off a lovely day and our little boy loved it? Train ride was about 15 minutes and only a few pounds, tied in with the whole of the country park to explore and cheap parking, worth going.
