“Wonderful in all ways”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

A truly lovely B&B, which excels in all ways.

I contacted the owner Mike last minute and was lucky to be able to book a room. Replies were always swift, polite, and answering all my myriad questions. Upon arrival, Mike was extremely helpful and welcoming.

The property: Located right by some nice pubs which I would like to try next time, lovely area. The layout inside is lovely - completely spotless, recently renovated, very welcoming.

The room: As per the property. Really nice. Definitely at least 4 star quality, and better than many hotels in my opinion.

The Kitchen: Well stocked to put it mildly. Mike offered to get up and cook for a fellow crew member and I basically at dawn, and while I would have been tempted to have a full English breakfast before our regatta, I actually prefer to go for fruit and yoghurt before a race. But looking at what was on offer, I sure was tempted ...

I really have absolutely nothing bad whatsoever to say about Compass Point B&B. It's a standard against which I will be judging future B&Bs. I will be back before future regattas, if I am lucky enough to get a room!

I stayed for one night when meeting friends in the beautiful village of Hamble. Compass Point B&B is close to the marina and seconds from Hamble's many pubs and restaurants. Mike was very helpful and welcoming. The standard of accommodation is akin to a 4 star hotel & I would recommend staying here rather than one of the cheap chain hotels a few miles away that maybe cheaper but totally inferior.

The location of this Georgian property is right in the heart of the old part of Hamble, close to the river and a wide selection of pubs and restaurants. The rooms are fitted out to the standard of a 4 star hotel and the bathrooms ( not all en suite) equipped to a high standard. Popular with regular guests, it offers very good B&B breakfasts and the alternative of self catering by using the well equipped kitchen.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a view of the river, but can be a bit noisy.

Beautiful house in the heart of the Hamble with views of the river. Exceptionally clean and well laid out, very spacious and homely. The owners Christine and Mike are very friendly and inviting - serving you in the morning with a fantastic cooked breakfast at a time convenient to you or you can simply help yourself to a selection of fruit, cereal, toast, coffe and tea. Conveniently positioned near to all the pubs and restaurants in the area. A real treat - thank you.

Room Tip: Room over looking the Hamble and The River with en-suite, although all the rooms are exceptional.

We stayed in the the Riverview suite room for one night. The room was very comfortable with a lovely view of the river. The cooked English breakfast the next morning was very good.
The only improvement we would suggest, would be to provide tea/coffee making facilities in the room. They were available for guests but in the communal kitchen.
We hope to stay here again.

A friend and I stayed for the night when sailing out of Hamble. The B&B is three minutes' walk from the marina and less than a minute from Hamble's various pubs and restaurants. Mike, the owner, could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The standard of accommodation is very high and breakfast was excellent: a fridge full of goodies to cook yourself or the owners will come and do it for you. We will be back!
