Visited the restaurant on a Saturday night. Was quite busy. Were seated in a cramped table for 2 & asked if we could move to an empty window table. Was swiftly told NO as the table was reserved but someone who specifically asked for that table. That person never arrived & was left empty all evening! Opted for a mixed starter which was lovely & well served. For my main i opted for a chicken dish & asked the waiter if i could have chicken tikka. I was told no, the meat is plain chicken. I then said again that i wanted tikka, the waiter disappeared, spoke to another waiter & then came back and said fine. Food came & was nice. Good portion size & good quality. During the meal we had4-5 different waiters. Very disorganised. Also many of them were hovering & watching which is very offputting. Asked for a homemade rice pudding dessert & was told 'i dont think we have any as last night it tasted off so we threw it away' wierd thing to say to a customer!! I told him not to worry & i'll have a coffee! Overall i enjoyed my meal, setting was lovely & romantic. There is ample parking out the back which is very rare for cookham! But its an expensive meal. £110 for a meal for 2 with a bottle of average wine.
