“Good value for money if you're not too fussy”
Reviewed 25 February 2013

I paid £68 for B&B compared with £100+ for even a budget hotel in the area. Fine for a one night stay on business even if the bedrooms are more like a hall of residence than a hotel. Mine was warm and the TV worked fine (didn't use the wifi). A minus point is that it is necessary to walk between buildings from the rooms to the bar and restaurant (great in Summer, but not in sub-zero temperatures in Winter). Also, the night I stayed there was only bar food available but this didn't particularly matter as there is a pub, literally across the road, which serves great food as well as a number of restaurants in the High Street 200 yards away. The breakfast (full English) was good and staff were very friendly. Also, beware that traffic congestion in the village is very heavy during the morning rush hour. Overall, good value for money if you are not too fussy.

Room Tip: There are "Superior Rooms" available but I can't comment as I didn't stay in one.

From the outside it looks beautiful and very impressive but the bedrooms are very poor. The site functions primarily as a conference facility and to be fair, if you were only visiting for a conference and not staying overnight you would think these comments were harsh. However if you are ever unfortunate enough to have to stay here you will be paying way over the odds for what is in effect nothing more glamourous than a basic university hall of residence bedroom. The bathrooms are very dated, the rooms are very small and worst of all (given the sub zero temps outside) there was a terrible draft coming through the window and the heating system was useless! I was also uncomfortable with the fact that there was no chain on the door and spent the night with the chair and most of my luggage propped against the door. On the plus side The 32" TV worked well and so did the free Wi-fi. I would try and avoid staying there until major refurbishment takes place.

I stayed for a course for 2 nights. I wished I had travelled back and forth- if you are looking for a good night sleep, you will not get it here!
The facilities are so dated and the whole place is looking very shoddy and run down.
I arrived on a Sunday evening and nothing is open and hardly any staff.
The rooms are terrible. Very small and poorly equipped. My room smelt very damp and wasn't warm at all. The worst thing is the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything.
The wifi is terrible. It continually drops out and mobile signal is very weak.

This place is pretty big yet easy to find as it is right in the middle of Cookham. The service was good as was the room with a tasty breakfast on offer. Clean and comfortable too. It is certainly not luxurious but more than adequate for the business traveller.

I stayed here two nights for a conference. Moor Hall is owned by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, so look out for signs for the institute, rather than Moor Hall itself.
Moor Hall comprises several interconnected buildings (so if you get lost, just keep walking and you'll find where you need to be eventually!). As others have mentioned, the rooms are small and best suited for solo travellers. However, they are well equipped, with flat-screen TVs (Freeview), hospitality tray and en-suite bathrooms. My room was very clean and comfortable.
The grounds are lovely - nice gardens and koi carp ponds in the centre, and parklands surrounding .
The bar and restaurant of Moor Hall are not always open in the evenings, but there are several pubs and restaurants in Cookham village, just a few minutes walk away. I had an excellent meal in the Kings Arms on the High St.
The restaurant was open for breakfast, and the buffet was very good, with plenty of choice.
All in all, a good place to stay - not luxurious and definitely not romantic, but good value.

Room Tip: I had a peep through some of the open doors when the cleaners were doing their rounds, and all rooms...

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding in cookham. The accommodation is good, its in the village centre and is in well maintained grounds. The rooms themselves are small but fine for one night. Breakfast was nice, lots of food and a lovely coffee machine.

£75 per night booked via Laterooms - would've been £95 if I'd booked direct. I can't understand that difference & it does make me feel as though someone's trying to take advantage of me.
Mattress was well passed its disposal date - the slope to the middle could've done with a gradient warning sign.
There's something very odd with the electrics. It took hours for my phone to charge & my PC never achieved full.
The right hand sockets of both wall sockets were dodgy - bad connection for sure.
Enjoyed the bar & there's a good barman.
