It is the only Chinese restaurant around, the food is fine without being great , the service is ok
Without being special and the prices are a little higher than what they should have been in my opinion.
But still it is the only Chinese restaurant around and it is not that bad.

“Terrible service/booking and rude staff”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

My wife booked a table for 9 pm as an impromptu night out after the birth of out son. She advised them we would be bringing our 3 week old baby son who would be asleep in his push chair. They confirmed that this was fine and a table would be available for us at this time, we were on a tight schedule due to baby feeding times. When we arrived we were advised no table was available. The staff were rude and advised we took a 10-15 min walk and a table would then be ready. We returned 20 mins later only to be told no table would be available.... No apology only that if you book a table on a Saturday this can happen!!! Result= ruined Saturday night. My Q...what was the point in booking? Ans....no response! This restraunt appears to be too money focused. The food is average but the service/staff are terrible. Personally will never return, shame as have been using this Restraunt on and off with the family since childhood. No more!

“Consistently good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2014

We have been visiting around once a month since August last year and no matter what time we book for the service and food are consistently of a very high standard.
The dining room is very well laid out and always has a warm atmosphere, complimented by the friendly staff.
Excellent value.

“What a delight - fantastic restaurant ”

I am a regular at the Peking Inn. I have been coming here for more than 10 years and can honestly say I have never been disappointed with the food or the service.
The food is amazing and the service is even better. The restaurant itself is in beautiful Cookham high street. It really is a great restaurant with a great atmosphere i am glad to live so close. 5 stars all the way.

Visited with a friend on a Saturday evening, during the February floods. Troops were in the village with a large supply of sandbags!

It was a chilly evening, but the restaurant was warm and had pleasant lighting.

Service was good; John was particularly friendly and informative.

We thought the menu was extensive and had a good variety of dishes, including a decent vegetarian selection.

The food was excellent! It was freshly prepared and each course was full of flavour.

The bill was reasonable; a third of it comprised our bottle of wine.

We will definitely return!
