I stayed here recently for one night, lovely looking little pub, friendly staff in restuarant but the food was, in my opinion, very average. Fairly steep prices for fairly small portions of 'average' food, but not dreadful (nothing needed sending back at least). People do say that the Sunday lunch is amazing, but we didnt stay that long, so cannot comment.

Bar shut about 11pm (on Saturday night) so we went across the road to another pub for an hour or so.

Bedroom was fine, large, nice bathroom although no 'proper' shower, just a hand-held one over the bath. Bedroom faced front and there was a 'rumpus' during the early hours with rowdy people falling over whilst leaving the pub opposite.

Personally, if I needed accommodation anywhere in this locale again, I wouldnt go back to the Bull Inn, but would give somethingsomewhere else a try.

Can't fault our stay. Everything in our room/suite was spotless and the bedroom and bathroom very spacious. Slept really well in a large comfortable double bed. Breakfast included everything you could want on request and the one evening meal we had was very good and better than The Bell nearby.(the only other palce to eat nearby).

The location is on the central junction of the town but the traffic volume is low and we heard virtually no traffic noise to disturb our sleep. The train station is less than a 10 mins walk and there are loads of walking trails- some displayed by the hotel.

Note that the rooms are above the bar which can be noisy when busy- but the bar shuts at 11pm and I would definitely come back here.

We visited as our friend lives close by and loves it - well we concur! Very atmospheric pub with low beams and roaring log fire. Well spaced tables with comfy chairs and great ambience. The food we had was exquisite and service very good. Desserts were really different - had the orange cake served warm with cinammon cream and satsumas; gorgeous!
I just wish I lived closer - I'd be in here all the time!

The inn is situated in the centre of the village and there is a spacious car park behind the hotel.
We were advised not to arrive between 3pm and 6pm as the pub is closed and the doors locked but you can phone to check if there is someone who can let you in if arriving during this time.
Our room, #1, was large but still cosy. The bed was comfortable and there was a well supplied tray of tea, coffee etc. plus mineral water. The bathroom was clean but, personal bugbear, had dispensers for soap etc. although these seemed to be of better quality than most.
The room was accessed by a steep spiral staircase. This would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. However, there is a fire escape which leads to the car park and this provides an easier access route.
The only issue we had with our room was the noise from the bar which was directly underneath. The ceiling is evidently very thin as we could clearly hear the conversations from below until 11.30pm which made sleep impossible.
We had dinner here and breakfast the following morning both of which were excellent. Service was friendly and efficient.
We liked the Bull Inn very much and would return but hopefully on a quieter night.

We stayed here for two nights in September. Its a good place to stay. Room 4 is massive with a large bathroom but it has a very mouldy shower not nice.
They also serve a nice breakfast.
Will stay again but for the price the shower needs sorting.

It's a while since I visited the Bull and 5 ofu s had a lunch in the bar. Despite not booking it was a busy Saturday, 1.15 but the service was fast and cheerful which i thought was pretty impressive.
The ham hock salad was so tasty and the butternut squash soup was pronounced good. Huge fish and chips - although the chips were arranged, as is trendy nowadays, like a bricklayer building a barbecue. Not cheap but their own branded bitter was pretty good. Yes it is quite expensive but we thought it was worth it.

It has a great atmosphere as a pub, with classic Cotswold pub building and decor. However it does also fancy itself as a gastro pub. It has the gastro pub prices but the food is not up to the same standard. I had a 2 small slices of duck breast on a tiny amount of vegetables; no potato or rice, for £16. Or there was some 'no better than a chippie' fish and chips, with chunky chips, for £12.
