“Great facilities & atmosphere, close to Roissy yet country feel”
Reviewed 16 November 2012

LIKED: great facilities for seminars and meetings, excellent food, cosy country club atmosphere, at a stone's throw from Roissy CDG airport, WIFI everywhere (bedrooms meeting rooms). FREE WIFI (congratulations): SwissPort codes are available at reception...you just help yourself with no limit...an example to be followed by all hotels, nice helpful personnel, nicely decorated rooms, good breakfasts, excellent lunch buffet
DIDN'T LIKE: a bit isolated if no car or taxi budget. WI-FI quality a bit weak for example if you need to play videos from the net or SKYPE. Beds in single/twin bedrooms are really too narrow (beware not to fall off if you make a bad dream), and mattresses are really too soft (felt like being on a boat).

Room Tip: 2 floors in total - Rooms are set up around LONG alleys. So if you don't like walking, ask for...

I stayed here for a business meeting and so can't really comment on whether the hotel was worth the cost. I was excited because it was supposed to be a 4 star hotel in a small, quaint village. It was quite nice accomodations, but could have really used some spiffing up. Carpets stained, grout in shower black and broken, some paint peeling. There are also no grounds to walk through, just in the inside courtyard.

But, I have to say, I was particularly impressed with the food. Truly gourmet - fresh oysters, fois grois and abundant breads and dishes, terrific cheese choices. I agree with other comments, the services was so-so. We went to the "bar" before dinner and there was no one to pour us drinks. It took forever to find someone to help. Then, at dinner, it was like pulling teeth to get more water and wine.

It is close to the airport, but beware - I hear cab drivers are not happy when you ask them to go here as the fare is a lot less than if you were a passenger to Paris.

Just got back having stayed at the hotel for two nights as part of a prize i won which was good as didnt want to pay 250 euros a night which i thought was a bit steep for the hotel!!
The hotel is close to cdg airport about 20 euros by taxi, but do make sure they charge you meyer and not fixed ratę as cheaper. The hotel is a dostańcie from the centre of paris and the easier and cheaper way is by getting taxi to cdg then rer trail to centre.
Check in was easy and smooth and upon entering our Room we coukd see how xlean the hotel was and the bedroom was decorated with antique furniture and overlooked the stunning courtyard.
We went down to the bar for a sandwich and drink but there was not a remeber of staff about. We had to go to reception to ask!! Bar open between 7am-1am. The menus are all french whixh suprise me as there were Many english people in the hotel. The waiters were miserable and not very friendly and couldnt crack a smile!!!
We went for club sandwich which was lovely.
Evening meal in the restaurant was good but had to be called through the menu. Cheaper bottle of wine was 30 euros but was nice.
Had the most amazing beef for mains wnich was cooked perfect in a sauce.
Overall the hotel was relaxing but service needs improving.

We spent two nights at the hotel, using it as a base to visit Paris and go to a concert. We arrived just after 3pm amidst the arrival of guests attending a wedding reception to be told the room was not ready yet, it would be 20 mins. We decided to have a drink on the terrace whilst we waited which was a very nice area to sit and relax in. We came back to the desk at 4pm to be told the room was still not ready - we seemed to be the only guests waiting for our room. We sat and waited, after 15 mins we were offered a cup of coffee, eventually we were told at 4.45 the room was ready. There were rooms still being cleaned and the corridors were littered with trays waiting to be cleared. The room was compact but stylish with a large bathroom, although it was apparent the carpet had not been vacuumed.

Although busy the hotel was busy with the wedding reception it was still peaceful and the surrounding area is very quiet despite its proximity to the airport.

Breakfast was ok, although on our second morning when all the wedding guests had left they had scaled down the choice of some of the breakfast items. There were no apparent staff on hand to clear plates etc, it was entirely self service.

In summary a nice hotel, but it is apparent that they are geared towards catering for wedding receptions and individual travellers are giving low priority, which considering the cost of a room was disappointing.

I stayed at the hotel as part of a conference group of about 15 people for 4 nights in April 2012. Charming hotel on the outskirts of Paris, about 20 min drive to the CDG airport. Fairly luxurious ambience in a rustic setting - which has the downside that there is nothing....absolutely nothing in walking distance from the hotel. The closest village - Claye Souille has a few shops and restaurants, but you are best off with your own transportation. Taxis are plentiful if booked from the hotel, but typically involves a 20 min wait, and pretty steep taxi charges - since they charge you from wherever they arrived. Closest Metro / Railway station is Mitry Claye, which is supposed to have good connections to Paris rail network, but has poor connectivity with the hotel - again, at the mercy of taxis.

The hotel itself was quite nice - tastefully furnished in the common areas, bar and restaurant; the room are very spartan, but spacious and the bathroom was large and well appointed. All the rooms have windows overlooking the central courtyard - quite picture postcard. Rooms do not have air conditioning, but I was fine since I was there during an unseasonably cold spell in Paris. Rooms do get quite stuffy with the windows closed.
The breakfast spread was fabulous - typically French fare with delicious preserves and jellies. Lunch and dinner was also quite excellent, though quite expensive for a 'set' menu. Service was friendly and attentive, especially the front desk. Free wireless internet is provided, though connection is very slow from upstairs rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room if available.

Given some of the shabby photos and poor reviews i was pleasently surprised. Very french in design and service (a good thing - not some bland hotel!), i found the staff helpful. The food was good. The bedrooms are quiet (all facing in). The pretty and well maintained village has no real faciltiies (other than chinese restuarant a pleasant 20 min walk away). For business and stopovers, a good place. Taxi to central paris EUR 80-90.

My wife and I stayed at the Manoir de Gressy on both the front (May '11) and back (early June) ends of a family trip through France and Germany. We'll definitely plan to return -- the premises are gracious, the kitchen is very good, and the rooms are comfy. On the ground floor you can open the shutters and sit or dine on the terrace right outside your room. The staff is very friendly and works hard to please. The village is quiet and a pleasant place for a stroll. If you've got a car, there are two or three towns close by with hypermarkets and other sorts of smaller-scale shopping.

Two hints: if you plan to take a taxi from CDG to the Manoir, print out a map -- most taxi drivers won't know where Gressy is. They are GPS-equipped and will get you there, but will still appreciate the guidance. And, the Manoir, because it is such a pleasant place, has business conferences and weddings on many dates; consider dining by room service if you'd like to avoid the crowds. (On the other hand, on one of our evenings we had the dining room nearly to ourselves -- it all depends).

We definitely enjoyed that Manoir and hope to stay there the next time we fly into/out of CDG --

Room Tip: Go for the ground floor!
