We did actually stay in 2008, not 2009. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet of Coconuts Beach and it was all absolutely stunning. The rooms were fantastic - there was nothing fake or over the top and the resort intergrated well with the natual environment. The staff were friendly and happy. The food was absolutely fantastic as were the cocktails and beer. We are going there for our honeymoon in October because we loved it so much. We were very sad when we heard about the Tsnumani - we both felt a real connection to Coconuts that we've never felt anywhere else. We cannot wait to come back to Samoa!

The resort had only been opened for 2 weeks after the rebuilding project since the Tsunami when we visited. What a fabulous environment! Amazed at the tenacity of folk to start again after the devastation of the tsunami. There's "construction" going on at Coconuts Beach Resort but it's "Samoan" style and not at all intrusive - in fact, the bloke tidying the gardens with a whipper snipper was noisier, and the drunken mob from NZ were more intrusive. We had a delightful stay and met some wonderful kiwis and friendly ozzies, Locals were warm, friendly, welcomong and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful holiday

We arrived in the dead of night and woke up to blue skies, coconut trees, and beautiful beaches. Coconuts staff were wonderful. They took the time to get to know our names and were really friendly and helpful. They have worked incredibly hard to rebuild the resort after the tsunami and were still doing an amazing job while we were there. The rebuilding in no way interfered with our holiday and we were always greeted with a smile.
We stayed in a Coco suite and were really happy with how spacious it was. The food was divine and the cocktails fabulous. If there was one fly in the ointment it was our embarrassment at how some of the other guests were rude to the staff, but we will definitely return and are grateful for the enchanting holiday that Coconuts provided.

For young couples, families I would not recommend Coconuts, but for middle aged, older people, especially those looking for a relaxing holiday, Coconuts is your destination! They were still rebuilding after the Tsunami, with only some rooms available. The rooms are uniquely Samoan, but the bed was as hard as!! The food is top quality, but like other travellers' comments, I would have to say the menu needs to be altered every few days and perhaps smaller meals also offered at lunch. The free wine was cr*p!! but the white was more palatable than the red. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly and compared to at least three other resorts, I would have to say Coconuts' employees take a pride in their culture and jobs and are the best!!!

As the Spa of our hotel wasn't rebuilt yet after the Tsunami, we decided to go next door
to the Coconut Beach Club for a massage. The first thing was the greeting. Nobody said really good morning or welcome and the therapists didn't introduce themselves, even their english was good. Then we went into the treatment area, which didn't look very clean. While we got changed ,one of the therapists stayed with us, which was bit uncomfortable. The massage table was only partly covered by 1 towel. During the massage we could hear all the conversation from the reception next door.
There was no music for distraction.
When we came out of the treatment I was pretty thirsty and I asked for a glass of water and was told that I have to go to the beach bar to buy a bottle of water.
Wow, that's customer service.
I don't think that people come back for another treatment, when they get treated like that.
