The mark of a good restaurant is not necessarily its size, but the quality of its food and the generosity of its staff. The location of the restaurant makes it appear promising. The owners were at least wise in this regard, having selected a spot with a splendid view of the ocean.
I seated myself at the cleanest table I could find. Looking around, I only noticed two other customers. Since it was lunchtime on a Sunday afternoon, this should have been my second warning signal, but I still continued on in my culinary adventure.

Having looked at the menu i wasn't pleased at all. There wasn't a variety of things available. I ordered their Fish and Chips and Chicken Chop suey. The price of Fish and Chips seemed fine but i expecting grilled fish but when my order came. . . it was just disappointing. Fish was battered in flour and was extremely oily and the chips were soggy. I also found a dead ant in the bowl of rice. My mistake though i didnt inform the staff as i didnt want other customers to hear this.

Visiting Vilisite was certainly an experience to remember, but one that I never hope to repeat and would not wish upon anyone else. If you are tempted by the luscious landscape and the scenic view, you would be better off bringing a camera to the restaurant than your appetite.

“Brilliant spot but poor food”
Reviewed 30 December 2012

This restaurant is in a fantastic spot - stop over for a beer and get one of the best views on the Coral Coast. And the service was very good. But our food was poor - the much vaunted fish and chips were miserable. Clearly the fish had been frozen for a very long time. It was tough and tired. Perhaps the curry would be better.

“Rebuilding Sigatoka restaurant after Fire”
Reviewed 10 October 2012

Vilisite's sigatoka restaurant was destroyed in a fire. Her take- away cafe is still going, while we are anxiously wait for the river restaurant to be rebuilt. It was always fabulous. Vilisite really understands about good fresh food, happy environment and real Fijian hospitality. If you want to travel further afield, you could visit her very successful seafood restaurant overlooking the ocean in Korolevu - it's about half an hour drive - and located half way between Naviti and Warwick Resorts.

“A "date" night every time!”
Reviewed 15 June 2012

Every time we come to Fiji it's a must that we have date night at Vilisite's - sadly the Sigatoka one has burnt down recently - but we just travelled up the coast a bit and found our real fave - the one where they overhang the ocean - time it right and it's a beautiful sunset dinner!
