I can't say enough about this trip. Despite the fact we were too late for bears, we learned so much we will be very educated for next year. We saw plenty of other wildlife and enjoyed the host and guides, they make the trip class AAAAA.
Thank you to Julius and Kristen for great facilities and food. Thanks to Jillian and Forest for patience, persistance and lessons learned, from mushrooms to detailed bear behavior. You all are very passionate about the cause and we appreciated all of you. We look forward to seeing you next year a little earlier. Ray is looking forward to cooking class with Kristen. LOL
Cabin accommodations were excellent, we watched movies in what little spare time we had, you kept us so busy. The remote location and view was so relaxing, what a break from the fast life in Dallas.
See You all next year for sure!

We really looked forward to our return to Grizzly Bear Ranch, and this trip went way beyond our wildest hopes. Having enjoyed seeing black bears last time, we came back to watch grizzlies and they turned up trumps...awesome creatures with a cool, relaxed amble until they spot a salmon. The experience and knowledge of the guides is crucial in giving everyone the chance to see bears without causing problems for either side. The cabins are delightful, giving guests their own space with a log stove and an extremely comfortable bed. The river-rafting trip was great fun and it gave us a completely fresh view of the countryside, too....don't miss that on any account! Kristin's cooking is something to dream about after you've gone home, and the company at the dinner table is a great feature. All in all, you'd be mad to miss the chance....go if you can!!

This was a truly wonderful experience on so many levels. The warmth, hospitality and generosity of Julius & Kristin, not forgetting Kristin's great cooking (such wonderful food). The knowledge, enthusiasm and sheer fun imparted by Giilian, Forest and Julius on all the different activities. The marvellous scenery, our fun fellow guests, the beautiful log cabin with it's cosy woodburner and excellently plumbed shower, the white water rafting, the trip to an isolated peak with breathtaking views, the majestic bald eagles. Oh, and the bears! To see these animals behaving naturally in their own environment was a real privilege.
We are big safari fans and have stayed in some of the best lodges in many different African countries. We have always felt nothing could come close to those experiences. These 4 nights however were right up there and in Julius, Kristin, Gillian and Forest as good hosts and guides as you could ever hope for - truly special people and a special place.

Grizzly Bear Ranch is a really special place in so many ways.
We have stayed at the Ranch three years running and will definitely be returning again. Our experience each and every time has been breathtaking.
The cabin that we stayed in was perfect with beautiful views, comfy bed and lots of little extras to make you feel welcome and at home, every little detail has been thought of.
The location of the Ranch is excellent with a river running past your cabin and mountain views in every direction.
We saw lots of bears, some with cubs which was really special, it was also so great to see them in their natural habitat without any human interference. We also saw lots of other wildlife.
The food at the Ranch is excellent, Kristen is a really talented chef, every meal that we had was wonderful, and its really refreshing that all of the produce used is sourced as locally as possible. It was also great to enjoy dinner together with our hosts and the other guests staying at the ranch, to discuss the sightings of the day.
Julius & Kristen are both great hosts and make you feel really welcome and at home. Gillian and Forrest were also great guides (they took us out on a wonderful hike and some great bear viewing) they were both really informative and friendly.
We really would recommend Grizzly Bear Ranch to anyone who appreciates the great outdoors, wonderful wildlife, excellent views, fabulous food and great hosts. It really is a once in a lifetime experience (so much so that we have done it three times!)

It is 3 weeks since we left Grizzly Bear Ranch. When i was telling my friend about it at the weekend she said she could still hear the excitement in my voice. This was the best place I have ever been to. A beautiful, peaceful location in remote British Columbia. We were lucky enough to see 12 Grizzly and 4 Black Bears. We enjoyed lovely food (Thank you Kristen for accomodating vegetarians!) . We were guided by some wonderful, passionate and knowledgable people and despite my apprehensions i loved the rafting. . A joy to spend time here, and if you have any interest in seeing bears in their natural surroundings in a beautiful location then go!! No hairdryers who cares?

Our four days at Grizzly Bear Ranch were amazing! Julius and Kristen are lovely and make sure you have a great time! Kristen is a fantastic cook and her breakfasts and dinners are wonderful! So good that I brought her cookbook before we left! We stayed in the 'New Cabin' which was lovely, spotlessly clean with a log burner and everything you needed for your stay! Seeing the Grizzly Bears and their cubs on our first morning just blew us away and seeing seven on our rafting trip was amazing! Forrest and Gillian who also take you out on beautiful hikes and spotting bears are great and along with Julius and Kristen are so passionate about the bears and also are keen to pass on their experience and knowledge of bears, wildlife and the surrounding area which is stunningly beautiful.
Sharing the dinner table with Julius and Kristen and our six other bear lovers was great fun! Everyone was lovely and we enjoyed drinking plenty of good local wine or beer and eating lots and lots of delicious food! Great stories were told and a lot of laughs had. You really are made to feel at home and so welcome at the Ranch by all.
If you love bears and wildlife you must go to Grizzly Bear Ranch! We definitely will go back for more and can't recommend it highly enough!

We had a wonderful time staying with Julius and Kristin. The location is beautiful and the wildlife unbelievable. We were both fortunate and privileged to see a large number of grizzly bears, most memorably viewing 7 bears whilst on our rafting trip. Truly an experience of a lifetime. The guides, Forrest and Gillian, were great and we enjoyed getting to know them, our hosts and the fellow guests (only 6 others). Kristin's cooking was superb and the accommodation in the cabins (with their toasty log fires) just perfect. We would highly recommend the experience to anyone.
