Love this quiet retreat in the Kootenays. The finishes and decor in the cabins are just as I would have them. The front porch and views are wonderful. My friend and I spent the whole day here, down at the lake and around the cabin. Relaxing and beautiful. Debra and Kevin run a great resort, and are very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

We were delighted to share Wing Creek Resort with you and your friend! We are fortunate to be only 5 minutes from all the shops and restaurants in Kaslo but still surrounded by Nature: lush forest, Kootenay Lake and soaring Purcell and Selkirk mountains. Many of our guests tell us they love the quiet and privacy we offer -- in addition to the great views! They love having their own space -- and quite often even having the entire beach to themselves, as you did! We are so happy you had a chance to really relax here us and thank you so much for the compliments on your cabin and the setting. Thank you for finding us and we look forward to the possibility of welcoming you back one day soon!

Thank you so much for your lovely review -- and for choosing Wing Creek Resort for the wedding venue! We were delighted and honoured to host your family's small wedding ceremony and reception on our grounds and in our Retreat Centre. It was truly a pleasure to meet you all and to play even a tiny part in uniting your wonderful daughter and her new husband. We are blessed with spectacular scenery to act as a backdrop to weddings and other special occasions and we are happy to do everything possible to fill in the details to help you create the perfect day. Your daughter's organizational skills are second to none and made our job extremely easy! We look forward to welcoming you back for a Yoga Retreat -- and perhaps providing the special setting for an anniversary celebration one day in the future! In the meantime, we wish you and your entire family much happiness and love.

Thank you Debra and Kevin ( our hosts ). Though our stay was brief and it was rainy, little did we realize that the weather would enhance the warmth of the experience as we nestled around a warm crackling fire and watched through the large windows as the rain rustled the leaves and the clouds caressed the mountains as they drifted northward along the silvery sliver of the lake. And then there was a unique massage by Debra who's hands flowed over me like the clouds along the mountains and I could feel her energy. like a gentle rain, wash away the stress of travel. Kevin nourished my intellect with thoughtful conversation. My only disappointment was that the stay and friendship was all too brief. Thank you. ( from R. Kaczmarek / Oct 2013 )

Thank you so much for writing this review! We have experienced significant issues accessing our Trip Advisor account and have been unable to respond until now. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay here at Wing Creek Resort and hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you back again to continue our friendship and share our beautiful and tranquil resort with you once again! We experienced unparalleled weather all summer long this year and are just now welcoming a little rain to encourage our forests to grow strong and tall. Guests this week shared your experience of turning inward, curled up in front of their cozy fireplaces and watching the clouds create myriad patterns over the soaring Purcell mountains. They tell us they enjoyed the opportunity to talk, think, read and relax in our peaceful setting. We have had the honour of providing more guest massages this year than any year previous -- we'll credit your review with that! -- thank you so much for sharing your experience! Until we meet again, we wish you happiness and happy journeys wherever they take you.

Lovely setting with incredible views of the mountains and glimpses of the pristine Kootenay Lake. The cabins are cozy and the kitchens are adequately appointed; fireplace is a real plus and completes the “our own cabin in the mountains” ambiance. The owners/operators, Kevin and Debra, work diligently to ensure one’s stay at the resort is pleasant. While there are plenty of places and attractions to visit in the surrounding area and recreation opportunities including hiking, biking, boating, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, hot springs, spas, etc., one really never needs to leave the cabin or its deck. Parking is within steps of the cabin door, so you don’t even have to really work at unpacking. You can also take a trail to a lovely private beach, but do keep in mind that it is a relatively steep ascent for the return hike, (well worth the effort, though!) Do take the ferry across Kootenay Lake to Crawford Bay, a wonderful artists’ community. This provides the opportunity to truly appreciate the immenseness and beauty of the lake.

Room Tip: The cabins with the covered decks are our favorites.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our property -- people are relying on guest stay reviews more and more in the tourism industry! We take great pride in sharing our beautiful resort with guests from all over the world -- often couples with busy lives in the city who cannot experience the joy of being surrounded by Nature or the beautiful sounds of silence. There are many sights to see and outdoor adventure of every type to engage in. Still, many of our guests choose to spend at least some of their time relaxing on their large decks (all our decks are covered!) or on our private beach. In the moment, just being at one with Nature. Enjoying the silence, punctuated only by the melodic sounds of Wing Creek as it cascades through the property and out into pristine Kootenay Lake. Our guests tell us what we offer is priceless ... and we believe them!

Cottage was peaceful, quiet, clean and modern. Spa/massage was very relaxing. Stargazing at its finest. Grapes hanging from the roof of our private cottage, fireplace and bbq made it cozy and special.

Thank you for sharing your experience at Wing Creek Resort! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and found it all peaceful and quiet. Exactly what we were hoping for! As ex-city dwellers, we never fail to spend some time stargazing -- who knew all those stars were actually up there! Not me, I always thought that number of stars could be seen only in planetariums! This year we had a bumper crop of grapes on the cottages and we got lots of vine information for our upcoming vineyard from all the winemakers who stayed with us! Exciting! We are fortunate that the eponymous Wing Creek cascades right through the resort, sharing its tranquil and relaxing sounds. It provides not just the perfect backdrop for the resort but also the perfect soundtrack for the Falling Water Spa. We received an unprecedented level of spa service bookings this year and were rewarded with extra-relaxed guests all season long! We are looking at adding additional staff and services to create even more relaxation experiences at the Spa next year. We are also adding some additional romantic touches to the couples' massages since this was a very popular booking request this year! Thank you for all the positive feedback -- it feeds our creativity!

Picturesque mountains from the cottage deck in a rural and quiet setting. Well equipped cottage. Excellent hosts, Debra and Kevin. If you are looking for a remote and peaceful experience in the Kootenays, a 5 minute drive from lovely Kaslo, Wing Creek is it! We will most certainly return!

Thank you so much for testing us out to see if the Route 3 article was an accurate depiction of Wing Creek! Thank you even more for deciding it was and planning a return trip! We look very forward to hosting you again!! We continue to work to balance the feeling of privacy being nestled in the trees with the ability to see those panoramic views of the dramatic Purcell mountains and pristine Kootenay Lake! We love hosting buests from all over the world here and watch them relax and enjoy life surrounded by Nature. We know it is not possible in many parts of the world and certainly not in the midst of a busy city! Thank your for all the compliments and for recommending us to others! We are never crowded with a maximum of 14 adult guests on the resort at any given time. Being in a remote mountain wilderness "off the beaten track" means we are always looking to attract new guests as well as repeat guests who loved their previous visits. Thank you for helping on both counts!!

Our time at Wing Creek Resort will be remembered always. We had spent the previous few days in the area camping and hiking to beautiful places like Monica Meadows and Fry Creek. It was a great way to finish off our time in this magical area of British Columbia, rest our bones as we looked across Kootenay Lake from the comfort of our private porch. The view was spectacular of the mountains that we had previously explored and had me imagining how beautiful it would be in the winter with them covered in snow. Deb and Kevin were fantastic! Easy to talk to and very friendly. The facilities were top notch. Beautiful cabins with inspiring views. A property with orchards and forest trails to the beach front that had a BBQ for our use and tastefully placed fire pits which were very unobtrusive keeping inline with the simple beauty of the area and shoreline. I awoke to a deer munching on fallen apples in the rising sun. Nice image to start your day. The no pets aspect was great! Nothing worse tan settling down for a good nights sleep to find that your cabin stinks of cat or to find dog hair on the couch. The quiet was needed and very appreciated and the abscence of screaming children was duely noted. In summary, fantastic and well worth it.

Thank you for taking time to write a review of your experience at Wing Creek Resort! You took full advantage of the wonderful surroundings including the amazing hikes close by. (Maybe we can entice you back to explore Loki or MacBeth next time!) Magical is exactly how we feel about this area! As you imagined, the mountains are breathtaking when covered with snow -- and the cabins are at their most charming when snow hangs in perfect curves off their roofs, with the little twinkle lights adding that final touch of magic. Thank you for appreciating the fact that we are creating a quiet and private adult sanctuary here -- we know it reduces the number of guests we attract but it is what creates the exact experience they want and need. We are also a safe refuge for people with allergies. We often awake to seeing deer very close to our cottage or see them on their routes throughout the resort. We always stop to take note as we spent many years in the city without them and we agree there is no better way to start your day! Thank you!
