“Amazing vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2011

We were 3 couples that went to the Grand Palladium for a 7 day stay and I want to go back...now!!! It was beautiful, the landscaping and the rooms were very well kept (there was a jacuzzi bath tub in our regular suite (bliss!). The food was very good, we tried the Lotus, steak house and Jamaica "à la carte" restaurants and they were all incredible. The buffets had a lot of great food to offer as well and every night the theme changed a little to offer some variety. The service was very good from all of the staff. There was securitty all over the resort and the walking really wasn't as bad as others mention in some other reviews. We were at the far end of the Grand Palladium Jamaica side and to get to the spa or beach on the Lady Hamilton side took a whole 5minutes, which was perfect to walk off all the amazing food! If you don't want to walk, there are little carts to bring you around. The pool was HUGE and very very clean. The entertainement was really fun to watch, every night at the theatre there is a dancing show and they also get the viewers involved for competitions...the dancers are great and there is also the infinity bar and boogie woogie night club for those who want to keep going. I highly recommend this resort.

Room Tip: A few tips...bring a bunch of 1 dollar bills for tips instead of having to continuously go to the ca...

We stayed for 6 nights at the Grand Palladium (Jamaica side), and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food tasted great and was plentiful. We tried out all of the restaurants at dinner time and we enjoyed them all. The only negative was the 75 minuite wait to get in to the steakhouse (all the others had little/no wait to get in). If you are going to the steakhouse - go early as it always seems to be the most popular. The service was excellent at the bars and restaurants especially for an all-inclusive. The resort is absolutley beautiful - great setting, HUGE pool, nice beaches, nice areas for walking or relaxing. The entertainment staff is great. The shows were hit and miss. Some we thoroughly enjoyed, others we left midway.

Overall, a great experience our whole family thoroughly enjoyed.

When we first checked in we had some room changes that we were not aware of but everything was taken care of. We were given the Jamaican Punch welcome drinks and it was very good. We were separated from our group via different buildings for our rooms. We were all supposed to be in the same building and instead we were put in a room that was very far from the other women in our group. We decided to stick it out and not worry about it. When we first arrived in our room, our room smelled like mothballs and mildew. Our room was also very humid and sticky. Considering that we were far from our group and in a room that made us sweat, we checked with the front desk to see if we could get another room that was not as old and be closer to our group. Our request was granted on the next day. We were told to wait for the concierge men to come get our luggage and transport us to the other building in the golf cart. Concierge took forever to come and we were going to miss lunch if they did not hurry up so we decided haul our luggage 10 minutes in the scorching heat.

Once arrived in our second room we were very pleased. The jacuzzi tub was in the room with the toilet and not in the open. The room had air conditioner and was not humid at all. The room also smelled much better. We were also one building over from our family. The only problem was the lights and power kept randomly shutting off. This happened about 3-4 times throughout the entire trip. It was very nerve racking and annoying.

The food was okay. The waits at the dine in restaurants were too long and the staff were not very friendly so the majority of the time we ate at the buffet restaurants. The buffet restaurant staff were a lot friendlier than those serving in the dine in restaurants. The performance and entertainment was good. The views were relaxing and the grounds were upscale for Jamaica. Next time I plan a trip to Jamaica, I more than likely will not stay at this resort. I would recommend this resort for couples and families due to the beautiful landscape/architectural grounds and array of activities the resort offers.

We have stayed at several all-inclusive resorts so we know what we are signing up for when we book.

The Grand Palladium was wonderful, the rooms were clean and attractive, the staff friendly, responsive and courteous, the amenities and property were well maintained, and the food was very good (esp for an all inclusive). The view was incredible and the pool was by far the resort's greatest selling point. Complete bliss.

That is until you factor in the horrendously annoying selection of repetitive techno music with deep base playing on rotation near the main pool and in the gym facility. During our five day stay, the same limited selection of songs played on a continuous loop, over and over and over again. I mean really, how many times can one tolerate Technotronic's "Pump up the Jam?" Well, in the case of one afternoon by the pool, three times in two hours!

Note to Management: Hire a music consultant to curate a vast selection of pleasing musical options and ditch the techno.

Otherwise, thank you for a terrific vacation.

We had a wonderful time at this resort. I read some reviews before we left and was a little leary but as always it was a great resort. We stayed 4 nights in Negril at the Riu and 4 nights at this resort. This resort is huge and has plenty to offer as there isn't anything to do in Lucea so that is definately a plus. This resort would be soo awesome if it was located in Negril as Negril has alot to do with seven mile beach, margaritaville, and Ricks Cafe. So it was perfect for us as we stayed in Negril and relaxed at GP.

If you are looking for entertaining bartenders look up Owen at the bar next to the big pool and ask him to sing for you, he is awesome and a great time. At the beach volleyball bar look up Howard and Carrie they were awesome and made us really good shots! Thanks guys for making our vacation a memorable one!!

We went to the spa one day for the couples massage and that is a must! The spa is huge and then you can enjoy the steam room, sauna, pools and hot tubs after. If you like to go to the gym it is very nice and big also.

I personally was craving American food and you can get that at the Sports Bar and it was very good and a nice place to catch a game. We spent alot of time in this bar as it was also huge and a relaxing place to just hang out for a few beers and nachos.

We didn't have any problems with theft or any creepy people, everyone that worked there were very nice and professional in my opinion. So just book this resort, relax and have a great time!
