“Nice Vacation”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

The hotel was a very calm and peaceful place to stay. The rooms are pretty big and always clean. The beach is relativly big but it is very clean. There are no waves which makes it better for relaxing in the water. It is different shades of blue so pictures come out nice. The buffet has a variety of different foods that are good. In the end it was a very good hotel and we will definitely go back! A big thanks to Samuel Vasquez, a pleasant and fun man to talk to, who made our stay extra fun :P

Just back from first trip to this resort -- enjoyed this piece of natural paradise. Believe all those positive reviews you read --Beach protected by reef so very calm great for swimming by guests of all ages. Our emailed room request was promptly answered, and on arrival it was a great surprise that for our 40th anniv. we were provided with a lovely decorated room and fruit plate. As with any hotel small problems can occur in rooms but we found that help was just a quick call away if there was an issue. Gardens are well maintained and include many mature tree varieties. This resort is located in quite an isolated area for us this was a huge plus. Guests can get out and explore area with local guides via boats/ or horseback for snorkelling or diving or just to check out other beaches /parks. Whale watching Dec. /March Don't go to this resort if you want to have high end shopping, or fine dining variety -- Go to soak up all this area has to offer before it gets built up .

Room Tip: email a request with what is important to you -- we wanted a quieter room, ground floor I received a...

i need to share this experience with all of you, i have traveled many times to Dominican but this hidden place got over all my expectations, the grass on the beach, the well kept gardens, the white sand beach and all the naturals resources that they have.

i want to thank to the whole staff for making our experience better, specially to Roberto Clase and Samuel Vasquez.

hope to see you soon.

Room Tip: Ocean view are amazing.

We stayed at the Grand Paradise Samana in mid July. we were warned it would be too hot but found the weather pleasant. Staff was friendly and helpful. Erik is the charismatic leader of many beach activities, as well as been a front line performer at many of the enthusiastic nightly shows. Front desk service was excellent. We had a few problems with water pressure that were dealt with promptly.
Food was decent. Chicken is always a good choice. Breakfast was great, fruit , omelets, crepes etc. If you walk towards the town (10 minutes up the beach) the first shop belongs to Juan, who can set you up with all the regular excursions at a steep discount.
Our room was modern and comfortable. Rooms in the 1100's get oceanview and frequent wild horse viewings. Very cool.

Room Tip: upgrade to oceanview was nice

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights in the beginning of July. It was an amazing perfect escape from reality. Everything was perfect. The staff gave excellent service and were very devoted to customer satisfaction. The beach is beautiful. The water is crystal clear and warm, very little waves. The coconut trees line the beaches so there is shade from the sun as well. The scenery is breathtaking! Felt like I was in a dream. The hotel is maintained beautifully maintaining the tropical ambiance with lots of beautiful landscape filled with coconut trees, fruit trees, natural tropical foliage. The hotel buildings are well maintained. My room was nicely decorated with a spectacular view of the ocean lined with coconut trees. Comfortable beds, good lighting, and air conditioned. They always had an array of fun activities for adults and children. I really liked that they have a game room and also a club to dance. The food was delicious filled with a variety of selections. There are also pools and tennis courts. But I spent most of my time at the beach doing water sports and relaxing at the beach. The beach is my favorite thing about this hotel. Can not wait to go back !

Room Tip: Try to get room with a view to the ocean. Spectacular!

Stayed here first week of June. Got it on selloff for approx $475 incl taxes for all inclusive. Cant complain about the price!! The transfers were great via air cond coach and stopped once to let some people off at another hotel. It was about 1hr30min ride. The hotel is very well maintained and nicely finished buildings to stay in. Our building was next to the second large pool in and around building 5-7 which were very nice. Staff friendly and drinks were good. Food was buffet and ok (better then I have had in Cuba). Always a decent selection. Beach was very nice and water warm! As another poster wrote. Single ladies be warned, the young male staff have only one objective and thats to charm you and get all they can out of you and more!!!! Hook up with a single tourist if thats what your looking for. I saw it and spoke to one who went through it while their.
They have a disco but it barely plays english dance music so I say the disco is pretty lousy for catering to the tourists. If you want to do some excursions there is a souvenir stand beside the poutine shop when you walk along the beach towards town which organizes tours and cheaper prices. We did the zip line trip through him and saved about $15 person. Was great!! The town is small and really nothing much there. Samana is 40min ride away!

For what we paid, we got our monies worth and a relaxing holiday!!!

Room Tip: wifi is available throughout the resort but you must pay a daily rate per device. We got it for our...

I stayed at this hotel 4 nights and it was a big mistake. The remote control did not work on my TV and they didn't bring me one, instead they asked me to go to reception to get one. The toilet tank was damage and even though i reported it they never went to fix it. i had to keep on opening and shutting the water off to the tank. The food was terrible and they do not have variety. house keeping is the worst, they took my dirty towels and didn't replaced with new ones. the show's at night are the worst i have ever seen. it's a shame that the location of the hotel does not live up to the service of the hotel. the snacks are terrible. pool is ok, beach area is great i give this hotel a 2 star.

Room Tip: do not chose a room, go to another hotel, Gran Bahia Principe
