Of all the b&b/guest houses that i have stayed in Chapel Of Barras ranks as number 1 and i can say that i will be making sure that i stay there again when in the area. Rooms are of the highest quality and David and Michelle are great hosts, Breakfast was excellent and the home baking adds an extra something.

The rooms were so lovely and cosy, with ample space so you didn't feel as if you were in a small, confined space. The bathroom was lovely and the best shower that we have had in the UK! David and Michelle were lovely hosts and gave us a wonderful suggestion of where to go for a small hike. Wonderful find.

Large clean rooms, furnished to a high standard with a great breakfast in the morning. Yes it is about 2 miles up a narrow road from the A90 but it is well worth the two or three minutes it takes to get there. And when you do get there you are assured of peace and quiet!! The room was well decorated, bed was comfortable and bathroom very spacious.

A very warm welcome and a lovely family room for Grandpa, Mummy and 2 children of 5 and 3 as we visited family in Aberdeen for 2 nights in February. Off the main roads and up a farm road so peaceful and enjoyable and a huge choice of breakfasts with much 'home made'.
Yes, took about 30 minutes to Aberdeen where we could not find midweek accomodation but very well worth the effort.
Thank you Mr and Mrs Drinkwater.

This is the second time I have stayed at the B&B. David and Michelle make you feel very welcome. The bedroom is furnished to a very high standard and after a hard days work in Aberdeen its great to get back kick off the boots and relax. Every night there is a bit of home baking to accompany you tea/coffee and a flask of fresh milk none of that horrible uht milk here. The full Scottish breakfast is outstanding with a wide range of cereals, homemade pancakes and bread your spoiled for choice. Thanks again for a wonderful stay

The room couldnt be faulted very clean and spacious large en-suite and large walk in cupboard ,my only issues were the noise travelled easly between rooms ,and it was a bit out the way ,depends what you are looking for in location ,it has stunning views but very issolated
Breakfast was lovely with homemade bread and jam ,staff were brilliant with some nice touches
Whilst it was a lovely place to stay i wouldnt say its the best B&B in Stonehaven (try Keith Cottage )
only reason not getting 5/5 is the amount of noise travelling between rooms and from floorbords etc however a very high standard of B&B

Room Tip: I was in room 3 and was a good size and finished well however i would rather have upstairs if i retu...

Although not easy to reach, is the best place in this countryside. It is clean, comfy, the owners are very nice people. For the dinner I recommend Gourdon, a little fishermans' village and the "fish and chips" inn, the "Hornblowers".
