The "beach" in the photograph consists of large stones down to small shingle. I didn't see any sand. For that you go to the harbour and there were many families doing what families do on sandy beaches but I'm afraid that I almost choked when I saw this. It is the harbour. With fishing boats. Although Scottish, I now live in The Algarve, Portugal, where there are so many miles of beach that you can have a whole one to yourself. However the folk at the harbour seemed to be enjoying their day at the seaside so who am I to dampen their enthusiasm? Don't expect too much but if it makes you/the kids happy then go for it.
