“A beautiful old home with wonderful hosts”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

We recently found ourselves in the area and stayed at this B&B for one night with our two young children. Judy and Glen were welcoming and accommodating and prepared the most comfortable room for us. Breakfast on the wraparound veranda in the morning was glorious. Being in such a lovely old mansion with so much history is very special, and they have lovingly restored it to its former glory.

The Lalor Estate Inn is among the finest B&B's I have ever visited -- from the warmth and professionalism of owners Judy and Glen Brough, to the welcoming veranda, cushy bath robes, uber-comfy beds and decadent breakfast.

This beautiful home is a perfect getaway...while you wait to move on to your next destination, while you rejuvenate and explore...Next time, it will be, for me, a home while i work on the "Great Canadian Novel" (or play, rather!).

I just can't wait to go back and recommend it to anyone...for any season, or reason.

Room Tip: Don't fear renting the "smallest" room...."small" is a relative term and the...

Fabulous B&B. we were the only ones at the time and got to stay in the same room that Hilary Swank did! Great attention to detail and super nice hosts. Very comfortable bed, bathrobes available to use, Perrier water and snacks, the most delicious breakfast. If you are in Cayuga for the driving experience then you should stay the night here!!
Thank you for the warm hospitality

Over the past year I have stayed at this B & B on two occasions, once with my husband and once wtih my sister. This home is grand and every nook and cranny is filled with history and so tastefully decorated for the period it was built. The host Judy and Glen were very warm and gracious. The breakfasts were delicious and they had no difficulty accommodating my gluten free diet.

Thank you, Judy and Glen Brough, for a wonderful 3-night stay at Lalor Estate, Dunnville, Ontario!

After reading the review by Janette Higgins, travel writer for the best B&Bs in Ontario, we decided to include this stop in our travels while vacationing in the area.

Upon arrival, high up the man lift, were Judy and Glen, restoring their 1905 historical estate. Smiles and a very friendly welcome — we were soon given a tour of the house and shown to our rooms.

We stayed in The Lalor Suite, largest of 4 rooms which was made very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children (age 13, 8). Parents enjoyed the King Bed and Judy accommodated the children in our room by adding an extra queen bed — with fluffy robes and chocolates for them as well !! Our bedroom included additional living room area with TV; sunken sunroom for evening drinks; a private 4-piece bathroom. Plenty of fluffy white towels !!

Just as advertised, each guest room is "uniquely and beautifully appointed, offering fresh roses, fluffy robes, pillow-top matresses and turn down service"... yes, we enjoyed being pampered!!

For all 3 morning breakfasts, we were treated out on the wrap-around porch; decorated with beautiful floral urns and a warm summer view of mature trees and pretty landscaping. Friendly morning conversation with Judy or Glen was enjoyed by big and small.

Breakfast was 5-star!!
Presentation top notch — all of which the day prior, Judy would inquire if we would prefer and enjoy this selection or that for our breakfast. Knowing what was to come, the kids definitely made their way down on time; always made to feel welcome even if the parents had not yet arrived at the table.

Breakfast items included freshly baked croissants, egg souffle, pancakes with blueberries, seasonal fruits and crème fraiche, scrambled eggs, farmers ham and sausages — so delicious!! A different menu everyday!

Looking for a place to eat or swim, they would offer their recommendation — again, something that suited each of us.

We would recommend Lalor Estate to any one looking for an intimate setting with
attention to the details... from our breakfast meals to our rooms. Judy and Glen are gracious hosts — always courteous, kind, and pleasant each day of our stay!

Room Tip: The Lalor Suite is only room with ensuite private bathroom. Thomas Room (night 2 and 3) the kids us...

What a hidden jewel! I'm so thrilled that we had an opportunity to spend an evening in the Lalor Estate Inn! From the time we arrived to the time we left, we were pampered guests in this finely restored historically designated home. It's all the little added touches and attention to detail that really make a difference - a bouquest of roses in our room, soft plush bathrobes, chocolates on the pillows and beds turned down, perrier water and snacks waiting when we arrived from our afternoon's outing - this in addtion to a comfortable king sized bed, beautifully decorated rooms, fine antiques, and truly gracious and welcoming hosts. Did I mention that the full breakfast was delicious! I have no reservations about recommending this B&B. Thank you Judy and Glen.

My husband and I stayed overnight at the Lalor Estate Inn at the recommendation of the folks at the Dunnville Autodromme. We were in the area to drive race cars on the track there. Lalor Estate Inn is just 7 minutes away from the Autodromme. We booked their King room with a private bathroom. Our hosts Glen and Judy Brough were gracious welcoming hosts. They are warm genuine people who aim to make a guest's stay enjoyable. Lalor Estate Inn is a hidden jewel in the area. The Inn is circa 1906 and Glen and Judy are only the magnificent home's 3rd owners. Glen is abundantly handy and the couple has worked to restore the home to its grandeur. Our room was stunning and the bed was so comfortable. The little touches like turn-down service with chocolates on our pillows and plush terry robes were very nice. Breakfast consisted of homemade muffins and preserves, delicious coffee, juice, Belgian waffles, fruit and peameal bacon served with such style. We felt like royalty! Glen and Judy saw to it that my husband who is lactose intolerant had lactose-free milk for his coffee. If anyone is visiting the Niagara region then you must stay at Lalor Estate Inn, what a treat. I am a fussy traveler who has traveled a lot and can recommend Lalor Estate Inn without any hesitation.
