After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we went on search of the Hideaway. Not judging a book by its cover, we had a pleasant lunch in there. It was Sunday so they were not serving sandwiches etc so we both had main meals. The food was excellent quality and plenty of it for a real bargain. I had ham, egg and chips £5.95 and husband had a classic burger for £7.50. I highly recommend and will return. It was far to quiet in there considering how good it is!

Had a lovely afternoon meal here after a hike through the forest with our dogs - the food is incredibly good value for money. Quite the most attentive and friendliest service we've received in years, the Hideaway deserves to be hugely successful and we can't wait to return.

The food was good before but maybe pitched a little too high for Verwood. The menu now is unashamedly good quality pub fayre, but beautifully prepared, obviously with fresh ingredients and well presented.
The biggest surprise was the drop in prices to make them the best value eatery in Verwood. The portions are generous too.

It had been some time since I had visited the Hideaway, usually a place to stop for a drink after a bike/hike through Ringwood Forest.

The food has improved immeasurably since the last time I was here (April 2013). The new menu is a vast improvement, I particularly like the extended choice of delicious burgers on offer. I went for the "the fire cracker" burger, which was perfectly cooked to medium with just the right amount of jalapenos and fiery chilli sauce. My girlfriend had the "the big cheesie" but chose to have it with a chicken breast instead of a beef burger and she tells me that the chicken was succulent and juicy, not like the usual dry chicken breasts you find at most gastro pubs.

The service was efficient and pleasant, the staff were very friendly and the guy in charge (who I think is the new general manager) was engaging and seemed to be succeeding to lift the atmosphere of the place.

We'll definitely be making more visits to the Hideaway from now on, if only to give some of the desserts a try, we were so full after our mains that we thought it best to come another day.

Pleasant little place that is finally getting the management and kitchen it deserves. Give it a go you won't be dissapointed

If you want fast food giving quantity and no quality, bland flavours and the sort of place that serves chips with everything including pasta, then stay away. We had a really delicious lunch today: the lamb in rosemary gravy was quite exceptional (sorry, no mass-produced gravy cubes used here), beautifully presented (the Japanese say we eat with our eyes!) and cooked especially for us at an amazing price (knowing the high cost of lamb these days). The other meal was a salad with roasted Mediterranean vegetables and melted Brie, just what it 'said on the tin', a delicious combination with a really tasty dressing. Add to this, a good assortment of beers, the chosen one was an 'Oyster mild' full of flavour and this rounded off our extremely tasty lunch. The service was friendly, helpful, cheerful, and willing - this is certainly somewhere we shall both recommend and to which we shall return.
