The wife and I use this place quite regularly and have found that it is getting better and better. The food is excellent, menu expansive, locally sourced food and the staff very engaging.

The only slight downside is the interior décor but honestly everything else about this place is excellent with prices very competitive given the quality and presentation of the food.

Unexpected to find this place tucked away down a cul-de-sac in a former British Legion hall, but the food was excellent value for money, and considerably better than much pub food that charges twice the price for dishes that are half as accomplished.

It should be mentioned that the interior seems to retain most of the BL features (expansive carpet, different function rooms etc.) but the friendliness of the bar staff, the quality of the food and the value (3 rounds of drinks and dinner for 2 for under £30) make this worth a trip.

Have visited several times now with friends and our children, however each time the barman has made it very clear he does not like children and does not want them on the premises, his general attitude is very rude. If this attitude continues he will drive people away and the place will shut down again, do they not realise parents with children could bring them alot of buisness. I for one will not be visiting again while this arrogant bar man is still employed.

Bit like sitting in you grannies lounge eating dinner but great service and great food. Prices are very reasonable and portions generous. Definitely will return.

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we went on search of the Hideaway. Not judging a book by its cover, we had a pleasant lunch in there. It was Sunday so they were not serving sandwiches etc so we both had main meals. The food was excellent quality and plenty of it for a real bargain. I had ham, egg and chips £5.95 and husband had a classic burger for £7.50. I highly recommend and will return. It was far to quiet in there considering how good it is!
