We stayed here during a 2 week family vacation through England. We stayed for 2 nights and absolutely enjoyed it. The staff were very welcoming and our room was spacious and comfortable. The rooms aren't typically set up for family stays but they were quickly accommodating and made a second bed for our child. The food for breakfast was good although it could have more of a variety. The only downfall to this stay is the parking lot which is hard to get in and out of but other than that I would highly recommend this place!

Room Tip: Book the rooms at the back of the restaurant, not over it.

The Oyster Smack Inn is our favourite restaurant proven by not being able to pass by without booking dinner when in the area, and the fact we have a nickname for it (The Smacked Mackerel). No matter what staff are on duty, the cooked-to-order food, wine and friendly service are always consistently high. We have never stayed in one of the ten rooms, but on this visit all were booked and the dining room was busy, but the service and timings of the courses remained exceptional.

Stayed here for two nights room was quite basic but clean and tidy and quiet. The food was very good and the staff were helpful and friendly . We did find that the price of drinks were expensive with the inn being a long way from London. We would recommend this inn if only for the food which was cooked to order and good quality.

Room Tip: We were in the cheaper rooms out the back which we're fine but parking could be a problem.

Thank you for your review.
I often do competitor analysis to keep our prices in check, but I do bear in mind when pricing drinks to make sure we are not appealing as a drinking establishment. You can get a third of a bottle of good quality wine at £5.50. On the other side I keep our prices down on the food and include offers where are customers can save on there food bill.

We hope you will come back and try the food again soon.

My wife and I had lunch at the Oyster Smack Inn and found the food to be of good quality and presented well. The prices of both the food and wine were very reasonable. The young lady who served us was pleasant and obliging. Altogether,a very nice experience.

We stayed on the weekend of Sat 26th July 2014 for our wedding. The team here was faultless. We had a pre wedding dinner the night before which was brilliant. All food was served at the same time and to a very high standard. I actually enjoyed this meal more than I did my own wedding breakfast!!!! James and the team went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed the entire weekend and everyone commented on what a fantastic establishment this was. The rooms were immaculate- really clean and the refurb is really up to date. I will definitely stay again in the future and recommend to anyone visiting Burnham on Crouch.

I stayed here 3 nights - wish we could have stayed more. The Spanish girl who made breakfast was fantastic, attentive and friendly. Facilities, food, drinks, accommodation were all class. Only complaints was tight off street parking and no air conditioning - but these are minor issues.

Room Tip: Any rooms really, but the ones out of the main part of the hotel are more convenient for parking and...

Called in early & unbooked on a Monday lunch time & received a friendly welcome to a clean & well laid out restaurant

Being Monday iIt was quiet but filled up a little as as time progressed and we experienced a recently introduced "new" menu with a good choice of food in all categories. The service was friendly and helpful and the chosen food - Fish Pie & bread crumbed Calimari was very tasty and filling.

With wooden floors and no curtains at the windows it is likely to be rather noisy as it fills up, especially during a weekend evening but wew look forward to returning and trying their evening menu

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on trip advisor. We do have sound absorbing panels in the main restaurant that helps with the noise and we look forward to welcoming you for an evening service.
