Called in for lunch and wanted a snack, we were greeted in a very friendly way and ordered our drinks, they have a good selection of real ales, wines etc.
We decided to have a ploughman's but at the price of £8.20 it seemed expensive so decided to share one as we did not want to spend £16.40 on a quick snack, there are 3 choices and we chose the ham option explaining that we would just share one, we were offered the option of another roll which we took at the added price of £1.30.
We were given one and a half slices of ham, nothing special about the ham, a bit of lettuce, a small portion of grated carrot, 4 slices of cucumber, 3 slices of halved tomato, some raw red cabbage, a small portion of coleslaw and a tiny pot of piccalilli, this was accompanied by a small warm baguette and 2 pats of butter plus the extra baguette and butter that we had paid for.
We enjoy ploughman's lunches wherever we are but this was by far the smallest and most expensive ever, thank goodness we did not pay for two. we will not be back.More
