“Excellent cottage with fabulous views”
Reviewed 21 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We loved this place, very clean, well equipped spacious yet cosy cottage with garden and wonderful views. Ideal location for the Monsal Trail and other walks throughout the Peak District. The owners are unimposing, very friendly and welcome dogs. The Anglers Rest pub is a dog friendly and is just a short walk down the hill, ideal for eating and resting the legs after long walks!

“A wonderful dog-friendly place to stay”
Reviewed 25 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

This property is in an excellent location for exploring the whole of the Peak District and beyond. It was very clean and tidy, and decorated to a high standard. The house is set high above the road through the village, and is very quiet. The garden was a good size and very well maintained. The owners made us very welcome, and were helpful on a number of occasions during our stay.
The Anglers Rest pub is a 10 minute walk, and the food here was good and dogs are welcome. Walks from the door include the Monsal Trail, a converted disused railway line. Bakewell, Buxton and Chatsworth House are all within easy reach by car.

“Lovely cottage”
Reviewed 7 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

A great cottage in a wonderful location with lots of walks right on your doorstep. The cottage was well presented and fully equipped for a family. We would highly recommend it and the kids really enjoyed sleeping on the mezzanine room.

“Great place to stay, well set out, gorgeous views!”
Reviewed 30 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This is a fantastic place to visit and a great cottage to stay in.
It has all the amenities for a family and their dog.
There is great outdoor seating areas, so when the sun does finally come out you can choose from lots of lovely spots to sit out in it.
Nice warm place on a cold wet day.
There are loads of great walks all on your doorstep.
Only thing I didn't like was the poor chickens in the barn not getting to the outdoors at all, especially as there was somewhere that could have been fenced off for them - that was quite disheartening.
Otherwise, helpful owners and a lovely cottage.

“Awesome place”
Reviewed 17 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This was a boys holiday of walking and real ale. We were excited to be away together, but initially gave little thought to the accommodation we had booked.

Wow. What a pleasant surprise.

Spacious, fully equipped and beautiful views in the perfect setting.

We will be revisiting!

Highly recommend this place.
