Enjoyed our dinner at Port Perry Smokehouse. We came there a bit late---shortly before closing---and quite appreciated how on the board before entering they write out everything that has been sold out....so you don't have to get your hopes up. Last night they were out of brisket---which was too bad.

We ordered a pound of chicken wings w. their home made barbeque sauce w. yam fries, plus some pulled pork tacos. I was impressed with the flavour of the pulled pork, and it wasn't at all greasy. The chicken wings were a bit dry....but I liked the fact that the barbeque sauce is baked right in them so the flavour goes through. The yam fries were pretty oily, I found. But we ate them all....and they hit the spot.

Service was fine. And the atmosphere? Kind of reminded us of our trip to Cuba. A dark basement in an old building. But I have to admit it had some character (even if its not the kind of character most diners might be attracted to).....and there was a feeling of 'privacy' sitting in those booths.

Port Perry is one happening town. With a little imagination, (and two dozen musical theaters), you’d think you were in Branson Missouri. Having said that, the smokehouse is close to the southern comfort food in my home state of Texas. The ribs and chicken are excellent, fresh and tasty. If you get a chance wander around the lake, have your favorite adult beverage and top it off at the Port Perry Steakhouse; you won’t regret it.

I'm glad that there is a barbecue place in Port Perry and I appreciate their food however the food is not outstanding it's good but it's not outstanding in most cases actually it's okay they get away with that because it's a small town but my ribs was really so fatty it was almost like I ate just fat there is really very little meat in there but what really bothered me the most is the fact that when our meal was finished the waitress came by several times asking if we want to pay she was also really eager to clear our plates and drinks eventhough we werent finished

you know being a weekend night you feel like you're being kicked out especially when there's no one there and it was not that late we wanted to have our drinks relax and enjoy finishng our drinks and enjoy it in the back patio but we were just so annoyed that we just decided that what the heck if somebody doesn't want us here why don't we just leave and go somewhere else I don't think I feel well go there again

I think the waitress with her immaturity really spoiled our evening just as some salespeople are made to sell cars I think she was made to be a teller in a grocery store and everything is transactional to her she has no idea of a weekend night out and was thinking that it's all about her and she's got to clear the table and kick us out we're both really annoyed and I don't think we're going to be going back for quite some time if ever again

Great original type of smoke house, great value friendly service
We had the plater for 4 would be good for 6. Inside is basic with limited seating so call ahead, which is in keeping with the Smoke house style. Loved the sausage, brisket was a touch overdone for my preference but others enjoyed, wings had great flavour nice and crisp not burnt. Lots of interesting items on the menu to go back and try

Arriving with a party of four we were somewhat taken back at how few seating there is, about 6 booths and Perhaps seating for an additional 18 people. Perhaps on this night being a Tuesday the selection was a bit narrow as the pulled chicken and pulled pork were unavailable this night. They were also out of their beer special 3 Rocks from the Wedge brewery. I must admit the bbq chicken sandwich was very good as was the half rack of ribs and wings were also good. Everyone loved the Mac and cheese as did we enjoy the backed beans. We were disappointed in not being able to try the pulled pork and chicken but all in all the meal was enjoyable. Thanks
