I have stayed here several times .. Camping and in a tourer, all of the facilities are great.. The staff are friendly and in a great location.. The beaches are lovely and unspoilt and very close by.. Would recommend for safe unspoilt holidays

Just came back from a sunday-thursday stay on this site in a caravan and loved it. The only problem is there isn't enough kids play areas around the site for how big it is. There is just 2 at the front of the site and when your in R like we were its a long way to go to. The eentertainment staff are brill with kids and keep them entertained all night, some crude jokes that shouldn't be used whilst children are there were being used which I didnt agree with. Drinks are quite expensive which you would expect with places like this but PJ's pop bar and the burger bar are very reasonably priced and the food from the burger bar is delicious, same as the food from Megabites. The bingo is rubbish and the caller goes too fast. The swimming pool is just the right size and temp. I would definatly reccommend to families.

We have just had 5 nights on this site with a touring caravan and our family in a tent.We chose this because you could book pitches together which we wanted. We thought they were good size and although a long way from main facilities kept late night noise down. People did seem to stick to quiet after 10 and security patrolled after this. However dog barking totally drove me mad at all times of night. The toilet and shower facilities were just OK nothing more, and only got a basic clean!!!.The site wasn't full and we did have a look at some others which were, and I can see why.We wouldn't visit again.

Sorry that you feel Thornwick is not for you. Our security officers would happily look into disturbance for you such as the dog barking and we can only apologise on the behalf of the person whoever it was. We are a dog friendly site and we try to offer facilities to cope with this such as dog walk areas and bins. But unfortunately dogs like children are the responsibility of the person bringing them. At peak times the more people you get the more dogs you would get we presume. We are sorry if someones dog barking spoilt your break. You could always try one of our static holiday homes which are double glazed and as such reduce noise considerably.

I won't be returning this site is not for me however if hoards of screaming kids - adults who have no consideration for others and party till all hours - bare topped men with beer paunches - pitches where you can squeeze a cigarette paper between, not - dirty toilets and patrolling security men then great this site has it all - can't comment on the facilities as I never went near them they were miles away at the other side of this huge site yes you need a car to get to the on site shop bar etc from the touring tent site - sorry this is not my idea of a holiday I won't be returning

We are sorry you did not have a good time on this occasion. As you can imagine at peak times we get all sorts of different people to stay. And unfortunately we can not police what they wear and with the warm weather we have had people do take t shirts off. Sometimes they even forget the sun cream! oops. We make every effort to keep people re assured and that point of contact. Our Wardens caravan is on the Touring and Tent area (Near the recycling point) and at peak times we have a dedicated security office which is manned to help with any evening query.
We have designed our touring area to have individual paddocks so everyone has more room and no one can encroach on you with a swath of wind breaks and pup tents. We think this keeps it fair and many of our customers would agree. We hope you do try us again, maybe off peak that time.

Having just returned from a weeks holiday here, this was the first time visiting Thornwick and the East coast and will definitely be back. the caravan was outstanding both in cleanliness and layout. What I was most impressed at was the cleanliness and extensive range of pots and pans couldn't fault anything. The facilities on site especially the swimming pool were fantastic and the evening entertainment was also excellent. The kids didn,t want to come home!!. Will definately be returning. The site is in a great location and is one of the quietest and most relaxed site I have been on, the fishing lake is also excellent. The north landing beach at Flamborough has outstanding views and the ice cream served there and food is amazing. What a beautiful place and lovely holiday.
