“Excellent place to stay”

This is an excellent property in a unique location. The property has just been re-furbished and is in excellent condition. The place is really clean.

4G/3G - it worked on EE but you needed to be in the right place in the house, or outside
TV - Great. works well for the all important weather forcasts.
Kitchen - has all you need, fridge, cooker, microwave, toaster etc all working and easy to use.
Heating - only used the electric heaters for an hour in the evening. took the chill off the room.
Windows - all new triple glazed, warm in winter i suspect. Many open to allow good ventilation on the hot days.
Beds - comfortable, clean, loads of pillows.
Bathroom - brand new and spectacular.
Property location - Right on the cliff top. walk out of the garden gate and your on the coast path. The views as others have said are fantastic. You can see to the north the Bempton RSPB, Filey and on to Scarborough. It is a quiet and undisturbed location. Just the sound of the seabirds and the waves.

Disabilities
We are a two wheelchair family but the occupants can walk a little.
There is no wheelchair access to thornwick bay. There is a rough path with steps and then a metal staircase. North landing has a 45 degree ramp (did not even attempt). The property has only one bedroom on an upper floor with two good bedrooms and all other facilities on the ground floor so is suitable for those who can walk a little like us. It would be a bit tight but not impossible to use a wheelchair. No ramp access to the property though. just a small step front and rear

To Do - You can expect to see many sea birds, barn owl, deer and kestrels from this property.
We found the flamborough head restaurant and Yogis in bridlington great places to eat.

Booking was easy with trip advisor and Anthony responds quickly to emails.
I recommend you book this place. I know I will again.

“Superb Location”
Reviewed 1 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

If you like dramatic scenery you'll like Jackobob, perched high on the cliff overlooking Thornwick Bay. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. There are plenty of opportunities if you like photography or walking and the sunsets can be glorious.

Had a lovely week at Jakobob, the cottage had everything we needed and the views were outstanding. Great to watch the wildlife & birds especially the barn owl which was a regular visitor right in front of the cottage. Perfect place to relax & unwind but also plenty to do within the area. Definitely booking again !

“wonderful cottage, very enjoyable”
Reviewed 12 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Jackobob is in a great position, close to the coastal path near the Flamborough cliffs.

All was clean and cosy, and easy to relax in, with views breathtaking. Loved the top floor bedroom it was like being the captain of a ship when looking out to sea with exceptionally comfortable bed. Amazing bathroom very clean and modern, All downstairs rooms very comfortable, sleeps a total of 6 people. Downstairs lounge large and topped off with a multi fuel stove, which kept us warm and cosy.

Patio doors lead to private garden with table and seating.

The local area is of outstanding natural beauty. Lovely coastal walks, 2 miles to Flamborough. the 2 mile walk to bempton cliffs nature reserve highly recommended.

There are four places to eat and drink within 10 to 15 mins walking distance. The Flamborough village is only a 5 minute drive, plenty of places to eat and drink and shop for essentials.

All in all highly recommended.

We arrived in the dark following a long, slow drive in busy post christmas traffic up the M1. The cottage was welcoming, with lots of fuel for the wood burning stove, and we were soon relaxing by its heat. Waking before dawn to watch the stunning views from the top bedroom reveal themselves was sublime.
In a place this beautiful, well equipped and cosy, it's hard to move from the comfy sofas to explore further than the local cliff tops.
