This is a lovely, traditional property set in the countryside, but within walking distance of a great restaurant, and easy driving distance of lots of wonderful places to visit. The region is still in recovery from the 2016 earthquakes, and some towns have been heartbreakingly damaged - but there are some lovely historic towns which are still intact, and the countryside is beautiful.
Frediano met us when we arrived, and couldn't have been more helpful. Cupboards were stocked with basics, and when we needed help through the week (where to take recycling, for instance) he was promptly responsive. Best of all, when we were sad to find that the pool isn't generally available until later in the year, he went to extra trouble to have it ready for our arrival. There's nothing to compare with floating in cool (well, okay, cold - but we're tough) blue water, listening to the wind in the pines, and gazing out at stunning mountain scenery.
This is a beautiful area of Italy, and it needs visitors while it's recovering from the events of 2016. I highly recommend a visit.
