“Beautiful overview over Rome”

I just love this hotel. Rally nice, friendly people at the front desk, nice area around the hotel and great food! Although I spent at Domus Ceasari only 1 night I really enjoyed it. Wonderful breakfast, variety of choices. Will definiately come there again.

From the hill top, this hotel has a beautiful view of the city of Rome. We rented a car with full coverage at FCO Airport, a GPS is a must when driving in Italy. The city of Marino has the charm of the old Country. Domus Caesari has free parking, an English speaking friendly, helpful staff, a good breakfast, beautiful spacious bedrooms, neat and clean. Also, the courtyard is surrounded by olive trees. Our two night stay was not long enough for such a nice place. Next trip, we plan to stay at least a week at Domus Caesari.

Unless you are staying because of proximity to Ciampino airport then you need a car. Hotel is a bit of a hike uphill from the station at Pantonella after a long day sightseeing in Rome. The trains are old and decrepit but as there is no ticket machine at the station you only pay if the ticket collector gets on. Hotel receptionist was very helpful and she gave us lots of information. Our room was OK but we'd booked a double and didn't need a third bed stuck in the room. This could have been removed as it was a fold up one. Once you'd used the shower gel or shampoo it wasn't replaced. The breakfast was fine and from reading earlier reviews I think maybe they've improved it as there was a reasonable selection of meats, cheeses, fruit plus lots of cake, which is very Italian and the waitress was very nice. We had dinner there one evening and it was just OK. The local restaurant down the hill has a good menu and is better value. Bar service needs improvement. Drinks took ages to arrive and when we gave up and cancelled we were told they'd been very busy with other customers, but we couldn't see anyone! It was good value for money but if the purpose of your trip is sightseeing in Rome, then stay in Rome not out in the sticks.

Room Tip: We were given a room on the side and the refuse collectors called early in the mornings so you get a...

As the other posts say, tired hotel and a poor breakfast, but the real kicker is when you ask for a taxi to be booked to the airport, the check in staff have a deal with their taxi friends toni and remo who charge you 35 euros for a 6 minute drive to Ciampino airport.....absolute racket

It's always hard reviewing a hotel as one persons standards and expectations are different from others. But here it's so easy to get much better than what's on offer. Firstly, it's nowhere. Carry on to the village of Castel Gandolfo and you won't be disappointed. Secondly, no restaurant open during the day, there is no bar at all (!!!) the only sustenance during the day is a very mediore breakfast or a vending machine on the first floor (crisps/ chocolate) and a coffee machine. That's it until 19.45 or you walk/ taxi to the town you should have stayed in! Mind the lunatic drivers if you walk or take a taxi, not sure which is more dangerous! There's no pool, my room was very basic and tired, my colleagues was better but full of flies! Lifes too short and cash too hard to earn to put up with this. Avoid!

Service was terrible (Italian style?).
We had a recent renovated room at the 3e floor, but...it wasn't ****. Maybe *.
The only positive thing of the room was the new airconditioning.
WLAN was poor, slow and only in the lobby.
Breakfast was very poor.
Try the restaurant just 100m from the hotel, that's very good (friendly, good price/quality).

Room Tip: You don't want a room at the 3e floor!!!
