this is one of the holy abode of Lord Shiva. It had a certain aura and it is one of the important temple in the Sivite Sect.
However the temple needs some good cleaning and maintenance. IT is a temple visited by quite a number of devotees but not well maintained.

This is one of the ancient temples of Tamilnadu. This is located in Vaitheeswaran koil, 7 Kms from Sirkazhi and 15 Kms from Mayuram. We used to visit this temple very often on our way back to Chennai upon worshipping Uppiliappan temple at Kumbakonam. Presiding Deity is Shiva worshipped as Lord Vaitheeswaran called as God Of Healing. VAitheeswaran is a Tamil Word... Vaidya (Doctor) and Ishwar (God). Thayar is Thaiyal Nayaki. There is a big Pond wherein people used to solute Jaggery, salt etc... As the pond is getting polluted, the temple authorities are not allowing to solute these things and a separate basket is kept there near the pond, wherein people are requested to put these things.
There are separate sannidhis for Lord Muruga, Vinayaga and Ankaraka also.
The temple is always crowded and there is no proper queue system to worship the Lord. The temple authorities can look into this and introduce special entry tickets etc.
Moreover for doing one abhishekam to the Lord, 10 to 12 people throg inside and iit is very difficult to control the crowd by Archakas.
This Vaitheeswaran village is also famous for Nadi Josiyam. You can check up and get in touch with the good astrologer.

This temple one among the 9 specialised temples for Navagriha , houses lord Mars as a seperate deity. behind the main Siva deity. Here Lord Siva is for curing diseases.

The whole area around the temple is surrounded by Nadi jyotish. There are many marketing agents for them as well. If you want to have your luck to be checked , you can get it done.

They are offering packages: Rs.200 if your leaf is available, There are some 15 kandas, and Rs 200 per kanda if you want only a general outline. If in detail you want to know something, charges will rise(especially if you want to know your future)

Food in the form of prasada is served at Rs 10 which is very tasty as well.
