Located approximately 25 kms from Chidambaram and 15 kms from mayiladuthurai. This is a navagraha sthalam for chevvai and famous for Nadi jothidam. But beware of touts and fakes. There is a big pond inside where we can feed the fish. The main God is vaideeshwaran and there is a separate sannidhi for chevvai. Has big praharams but cleanliness is to be improved. Has parking facility also.

This temple is one of the oldest temple for planet mars , located in tamilnadu , nagapatinam district. Most of the astrologers will suggest lighting a lamp and do archana for the lord. The lamps and also pooja items for archana also available are available within temple.

This timeless Abode of the almighty Lord Shiva in the form of Vaitheeswaran(doctor) and his compatriot in the form of Theyyal Nayagi (Surgeon) attracts millions of pilgrims who have either taken a vow to visit the temple or have this in their bucket list. The Temple that brings peace to anyone and everyone with the blessings of good health is considered as one of the main Sthalam or place that any Hindu would like to visit and offer prayers. This is also called a place of worship for Mars, a strong planet that controls human beings!
Such a place that has so much importance in Hindu Mythology and Dharma is unfortunately taken over for administration by the HRC&E of the State government that has scant regard for upkeep of the temple, its premises or the sanctum. I am given to understand that the temple generates huge amount of funds in the form of donations and offerings but these funds are not channelized properly for upkeep of the temple! wish the government administers better regime by cleaning the temple premises, coloring the artifacts that are exposed to weather, rebuilding certain sculptures that have withered braving the time and weather for centuries, air conditioning the sanctum where it is difficult to stand for even 10 minutes in this time of the year, install a water cooler for the pilgrims, washing the floor of the temple that is slippery at places due to dirt and moisture and many other glaring things that brings sorrow in the hearts of Hindu devotees who throng the temple which is supposed to be powerful in answering cure for extreme illness and health problems. The peace and tranquil of this ancient, mighty temple is diffused by the sights of non-maintenance of the temple. May Lord Shiva continue to bless all those who come to the temple despite the fact that the authorities governing the temple are not paying attention towards upkeep of this temple.
