Credit to one of the managers (Martin Charisse) who made our stay a marvellous experience especially that we had just made the big move from Europe to Australia. (I hope I've got her name right) Martin was very helpful in every possible way she could. Martin was always ready to assist, and help us for anything, even if that meant getting out of her way to help us out. Thank you again and so sorry for the late review. My Girl friend and I lived in the Joondalup City Hotel for a one month period from September 2013 to October 2013. We stayed in a double room that had a kitchen attached and a living area with a flat screen Tv. Pretty basic but did the job. It is properly cleaned everyday. It has a good(open parking space) at the back of the hotel. Location is good, its walking distance to the lakeside shopping centre(movies and food plus shopping) and access to the train station to go around perth. I would definitely recommend this hotel because of the customer service received. Thank you guys.

Perth is very expensive when it comes to accommodation. Usually I have just go along with the exorbitant hotel charges but fortunately this trip most of my time was in the northern suburbs of Perth.
The Joondalup City Hotel is handily placed just off the main highway going north. It is quiet and serves a good meal. There is room on the table to set up your computer in order to do some extra work after a day on the road.

The rooms are basic but neat, tidy and clean.

The beds are comfortable and the staff friendly.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for a close friends wedding. Although, pretty well located, nicely staffed and cleanly presented- we were left with some disappointments. The lamp shades were torn, the blanket on the bed was hardly a blanket at all, lumpy pillows and walls/roofing so thin you could hear the people above you going to the toilet- and in detail at that!!! We were kept awake most of the night from a rowdy bunch upstairs, which hotel staff didn't seem to make any effort to interrupt even at 4am in the morning.
Due to there being to power to the rooms, the fridge was off when we got here - which meant no keeping cool the drinks we wanted either.
I really think that for over $200 a night, and with so many great places on offer - you would be wise to go elsewhere. We will not be returning or referring anyone here.

We spent just the one night in this hotel. Basically every thing was clean. The bed was comfortable. The only downside was the knock and opening of the door by the cleaner at the door at 9.30, half a hour before checkout. We were almost caught in a compromising position.

Stayed for 2 nights on a recent trip and was very happy with the hotel and service. The rooms are very clean and tidy with black out curtains if you want a sleep in. Nice big shower and plenty of hot water. The hotel is only a short 5 minute stroll to a large shopping mall with some good eating spots if you are after a bite to eat including all the usual fast food places. The train station into Perth is right beside the shopping mall for easy access into the city. The hotel is in a very quiet spot so no issues with getting woken up with traffic noise. The bed was ok but not the most comfortable bed I've slept on, also the toilet roll holder arm kept falling off. No problems with accessing the hotel after hours and the reception staff told me they have just installed an intercom at the entrance to the hotel that goes through to after hours assistance if you get stuck. Overall I would recommend and stay again.

The hotel was easy to find, and in close proximity to shops and local pubs (5 min walk). Room was basic but had everything you would expect, iron, fridge, block out curtains, etc double bed was very comfy and the large shower was wonderful, hate those bath type showers! The room was quiet despite being on the road. I was warned about reception closing at 8pm, and had no problems with staff. Parking at rear was fine, but can imagine it would get pretty full. There is a lovely little place called Lion Thai 1min walk down the street for lovely food. All in all, no complaints, and would stay again.

We started our new life in Australia on 31st August 2012, our first week was spent in the City Hotel, which we found to be very good for our requirements. The staff were all friendly and approachable giving valuable information about the local destinations we required when starting a new life.
