Antica Dimora Leones
Ranked #3 of 8 Palaia B&B and Inns

We stayed at Leones for a second year in a row. We can't say enough about the accommodations, and especially the very friendly and excellent service from Violeta and her two daughters. Manuela and Violeta were very accommodating with our schedule during the three weeks that we stayed there. The town folk in Palaia remembered us and were very friendly - including buying us drinks at the local pub.

Palaia is in central Tuscany and is a great location for day trips to Florence, Siena, Volterra, Pontedera, Lucca, and Pisa.

We will definitely be returning to Leones during our next trip to Italy.

An absolutely stunning house in a lovely village in the Tuscan hills. The rooms were beautiful and host very warm and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and decadent and would definitely stay here again.

We spent five nights at the Antica Dimora Leones in early August. We can't say enough about the hospitality from the staff - many thanks to Violet and her two daughters. Antica also accommodated us due to a change in our travel plans. Great value with spacious rooms and great breakfast every day. House keeping service every day. Convenient location within the town. Despite past reviews, there were no issues being across the street from the pub. We actually met the couple who own the pub and found them to be very hospitable. Parking also included. Four excellent restaurants within town and close walking distance from Leones.

Just a great facility located in a medieval building and town. Palaia is also very central within Tuscany within an hour's radius to Florence, Pisa, Siena, and Lucca.

We stayed here for 4 nights with friends. A quirky rambling B&B with lots of character. Violetta who manages the B&B is very helpful and friendly but has limited English which made us practice our very poor Italian!

We had a downstairs (there are 3 floors) very large bedroom, ensuite and sitting room which were delightful and allowed us to chat with friends and have a drink before going out to eat. The garden is very pretty and there is a second floor terrace with seating which also gives shade from the sun and is very quiet. The breakfast was good including some cooked food mainly eggs in various forms and some bacon. The coffee/tea making facilities are available (self serve) 24 hours as there are no facilities in the rooms.

There are several sitting rooms for communal use and these are very comfortable and the whole place has been decorated and furnished in perfect Italian style in keeping with age of the building. There is also a jaccuzzi BUT this needs a little attention. The room is great but there were electrical issues with the lighting and mechanics of the pool the whole time we were there. The queiter rooms are to the back of the building as the pub on the corner can be a bit noisy in the evenings (although the food here is good and it is shut on a monday-all day).
There is private off road parking which is a bonus.
A delightful place to stay and I am sure we will be returning.

We found this enchanting little place by chance as our apartments were not available.
The little bed and breakfast is in a quiet little corner of the town that itself is off the beaten track.
An old family home available to use as a base in this area.Full of lovely quirky rooms ,all lovely and traditional in their decoration and layout.
Just lovely for those looking for peace and quiet in old ,traditional surroundings.
Wifi available though if needing to stay in contact.

Feels very Italian. Faded grandeur and you need to be self sufficient food and refreshment wise as it's really just a room with breakfast rather than hotel.Comfy beds and good bathrooms and a friendly welcome. Not a place to stay if you hate the sound of church bells.

This is a beautiful place in old house right in the center of town. The house is delightful--full of antiques and interesting books and artifacts. The rooms were large and well equipped. We didn't expect it in this old house, but the rooms are air conditioned and the bathrooms are modern. The hostess is very friendly and helpful, but her English is limited. This is a quiet inn in a quiet town.

Palaia is a very quiet town. There's not much to do there, but it's a great base as it's less than hour to Pisa and Florence. And you do get the feel of the "real" Italy, which you couldn't get a locations more populated by tourists.

We didn't eat in town, but we did have a couple of drinks in the bar across the street. This is really friendly, down to earth pub. You won't find a bar that is less touristy on your entire trip.
