Was recommended this hotel by colleagues who work nearby. Have stayed a few times now and the rooms are always clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and the bar menu/restaurant food was good. Would recommend this as a good stopover

Hi
My wife and myself stayed here on 25/04 for a 3 night break, just to relax.
The hotel itself was clean and very well apponted. Every member of staff couldnt have been any more helpful if they tried.
We stayed B and B. The breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice although you had to ask if you wanted any Black Pudding.
We never dined at the hotel as we were out at these times but the menu looked good.
Ample parking at the hotel so no worries there.
the weekend we were there a wedding was taking place on the saturday but this didnt inconvenience us at all.
The only small gripe i had was the room we were given was the furthest away from the reception but i think i am just getting lazy.
I would certainly recommend this hotel for a weekend stay.

Be careful. The car park is "run by Parking I and not us so its nothing to do with us." If your stay in the restaurant goes over 2 hours regardless of whether you are a paying customer or not you get a £100 parking ticket from a grubby and aggressive parking sting. The Manager tries to act like the innocent victim of this and "doesn't know if they get any money out of it" - yes, really!

Thank you for posting a review.

I am surprised by your comments as you have not brought your concerns to my attention.

We have recently commissioned a complete car park management solution through Parking Eye to ensure that our car park is used by hotel guests only, as we have experienced a number of problems with people leaving their cars at the hotel for long durations & visiting elsewhere at busy times. This obviously had a knock on effect on our guests & the number of parking spaces available.

We still offer our guests free car parking for the duration of their visit to the hotel. All guests that are using the car park for over 2 hours are required to enter their registration details at the terminals on the reception desk upon arrival to avoid a fine & there are numerous signs advising this in the car park.

If you do require any further assistance, please do contact myself at the hotel on 01422 375431.

Kind Regards,

Kirsti.

Stayed for just 1 night with family to visit family nearby. Easily located close to the M62. Rooms basic yet spacious and everything you could want for a quick stop over. There is a pool, but didn't have time to try.

Recommended.

We stayed for one night in order to meet up with friends. The room rate obtained by one of the group was exceptionally good (£44 for B&B for 2). Our room was clean and tidy with all the usual facilities. We made use of the small pool and hot tub. Both were clean. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, providing us with a map of the route to a local restaurant needed because the road and roundabout immediately outside the hotel was closed overnight. Breakfast was hot and plentiful, though it was a little difficult to organise the lids to the hot dishes as there was nowhere to put them whilst taking form the warning dishes.
Overall, very good value for money. The hotel is easily accessible from the M62.
