Who would have thought that the humble turnip could have been elevated to such gastronomic heights as this festive amuse-bouche created by Frances Atkins at the wonderful Yorke Arms Christmas break. We booked to stay Cristmas eve, day and Boxing Day and enjoyed a most restful and gourmet experience. The amuse-bouche, a drift of snowy creamed turnip and crystallised walnuts and cranberries was a triumph. My starter of Native Lobster, cured wild Salmon, Shrimp, Smoked Avocado, Beetroot and Maple a fishy delight. I also enjoyed the Truffle Cod Mozzarella, Langoustine, Linguini, sea Rosemary. There was Goose, Turkey and delicious Christmas Pud and even Bitter Chocolate Soufflé, Grand Marnier Ice Cream, Kumquat. We managed a few walks over the hills and dales and can honestly say it is an experience We will be never forget! Thank you Bill and Frances Atkins. .!
