I just returned from a stay at this lovely hotel in Agios Ioannis, Mykonos. While I was traveling with 2 other 30 year old women, we weren't interested in the crazy party aspects of Mykonos and this suited our needs perfectly. The location and views were spectacular. Agios Ioannis is located close to the airport and ports so a taxi cost of 15 Euro to get to/from the hotel (we flew in and departed via ferry). There is a bus stop right outside the front of the hotel that departs APPROXIMATELY 1x per hour (be sure to check the schedule that the owner gives you when you arrive because there are some slight irregularities) and takes you into Mykonos town (about a 10-15 minute ride and 1.60 Euro). The area around the hotel is very quiet with a few restaurants and beaches within walking distance. I believe it's pretty simple to take the water taxi (or a regular one) to the "party beaches."
This hotel only has 15 rooms, so the service and attention is very personal. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Marina who gave us a map of the island and lots of recommendations on where to go and how to best get there. You will find Marina's husband Marios behind the pool bar running the show from breakfast until the last person goes to bed at night. Breakfast which was included in our rate was served daily on the beautiful pool deck which overlooks the sea. The setting couldn't have been more lovely. Breakfast includes plenty of yogurt with granola and honey, a hard boiled egg, toast, some mini pastries and cold cuts.
Our room was very spacious and clean. We didn't have a view, but this is probably why we were able to get such a good rate. We were just steps from the pool deck so it was pretty easy to just walk outside and see the gorgeous surrounding.s
