We called in for a drink after our walk to see if itv was worth coming back to eat in the evening. It was! The yound staff were very friendly and welcoming.
We returned in the evening and all 3 of us enjoyed our meals. The (different) staff were once again friendly and eager to please. The service was very good and the food - though definitely pub grub - was enjoyable and not overpriced despite the prime location of the pub.

I'd love to come here on the Folk Train from Sheffield on a Summer Tuesday.

    (PS Toilets were absolutely immaculate)

I loved the location of Rambler.

We had two rooms and one with extra bed. The rooms are clean, especially bathrooms. The view from our room windows are pure nature - that's why we here for.

    The only things are:
Bed - It is too soft.
Eating - The foods are OK, but it is quite expansive when comparing to local.

    Room Tip: Nature, fresh air

The food is very good and there is a wide range of beers and ciders. The staff is extremely friendly. We will definitely recommend this place. As walkers we particularly enjoyed the sign in front of the house "muddy boots welcome" :-)

This "inn with rooms" is well located at a stone's throw from Edale railway station. We had pre-booked dinner so there was no problem with dining room availability. The food was good pub grub and the breakfast and packed lunches perfectly fine. There was a good selection of alcohol on tap at the bar too. For some reason the noise from the bar seemed to permeate upstairs as I was trying to sleep so that was a bit unsettling. So all in all, not bad and the staff seemed friendly enough... They even asked us to pass on friendly banter with the next place we were due to stop at on the Pennine Way...

Edale was on our way of a 4 day hiking tour. All 8 of us could stay there in comfortable rooms.
Breakfast choice is somewhat limited. Dinner choice is ok and food is fairly good. Fish meals are not the best option.
