The cottage kitchen was very well equipped for self catering with a dining area open plan to the lounge. The large TV and many games and DVDs, plus two comfy sofas provide great evening entertainment. The bathroom is beautifully tiled in a wet room style with plenty of hot water on demand for the shower.
The twin room was spacious with a wardrobe and drawers while the smaller double room had an exceptionally comfortable bed.
There are plenty of walks locally that do not require use of a car and also lovely tea rooms and pubs a short walk or drive away.
I highly recommend this cottage as it is better than the photos suggest!

Wonderfully located, bright, modern and clean this is a great retreat at the foot of Kinder and a short, beautiful walk to Edale. They take dogs too which is rare around here. Faultless and highly recommended.

1 review the cottage was well equipped and the hosts were v friendly without being obtrusive.they had a good knowledge of the area for walking and could recommed lots of walks.The place was ideal AS we could walk out the door without driving to start a walk

1 review This is a fantastic cottage- very comfortable, spotlessly clean and has everything you might need and many more extras. Edale is wonderful at any time of the year and this location is amazing with numerous walks from the doorstep, to suit the very active or less energetic. Best of all, Crista and Andre are the most helpful owners I have met and made us feel so welcome.

1 review A beautiful cottage in a lovely, peaceful location. We had a great holiday and found Brown bread Cottage very comfortable. It was very well equipped, even including hot water bottles for chilly nights! Crista and Andre made us very welcome and we would definitely recommend this property.

We have just stayed for four nights at Brown Bread Cottage, and enjoyed our stay tremendously.
We have stayed in the area on previous occasions, so knew what a great place it is, especially if you have a love of the countryside and wonderful scenery.
The cottage is perfect. Warm, comfortable, well equipped,has a private area at the rear for sitting out in the sun, and ample parking. Hope village is a few minutes drive away and has pubs and shops supplying all your needs, including an excellent bakers and green grocers.Turn right out of the lane from the cottage and there is a 20 minute walk into Edale village -two pubs(okay for a drink) and two cafes. (The cafe near the railway station is very good and run by the National Trust).
We would definately recommend this as a holiday destination.
