Overall, the hotel is nice but rooms are dated. We were staying at a room near the pool on the left side. Food is okay. I like the food in their restaurants located in the town center better.

The female receptionists really really need to be trained about courtesy. They didn't even say 'hello' or 'thank you' when we checked in. One looked like a deer-on-headlights! Too bad because we know the owners of this hotel are warm and friendly. This hotel obviously needs mature, well-trained, experienced guest relations officer/receptionists.

We stayed here for 3 nights & loved it. The view is stunning & the hotel is lovely. It's a little dated but still great. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant also has a great outlook and good music.

I first referred to their website www.sabinresort.com. You could not make a reservation there but they gave phone numbers for reservations. The deluxe room on their site was/is Php1850. I spent a couple dollars calling them and making reservations for 3 rooms. As a last thought, I asked to confirm the room rates. The reservation lady said the deluxe room was php2400 plus (I forget the exact cost). When I directed her attention to the discrepancy (over 30%) between what she quoted and her Internet site she simply said it had not been updated.
After I had spent the time and money to call them, I found that response quite discerning.
One has to ask, “why have an internet site that quotes rates that are not current and by more that 30%”? Is this very poor management or indeed “bait and switch”?

Sabin's been a constant choice when visiting ormoc as the facilities are ideal for families and kids. The big pool is excellent for swimming and the restaurant serves good and cheap food.

Rates have gone up though the last few months but this is understandable given the refurbishing of half the total rooms (those away from the restaurant).

Points for improvement:
- resort hotels shouldn't be particular with counting towels as you always need to have so many of these (you have kids in the pool all the time)
- kids below 10 stay in the room for free but they don't get their own towels?
- extra bed is paid (ok) but no dental kit, soap, comforter?
- maintenance of rooms and bathroom faucets (always problematic even with newly refurbished rooms)
- shower faucets for hot water do not close (continuous open/close as you turn)
- pls pour cement on the parking lot!
- update your website!
