“Great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2013

My wife and I went to Pier Tres twice during our three week stay in the tacloban area. We particularly loved the crab and blue marlin. The shrimp were excellent as well. The prices at Pier Tres are really reasonable for such an excellent restaurant. Even though they probably were short staffed both times we went, the attendants were excellent. If you are in the area you should definitely check this restaurant out. Great views of San Pedro Bay too!

“Romantic Fine Dining Over the Ocean – Pier Tres”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2012

All the wonderful qualities of Tacloban come together in Pier Tres, the finest restaurant in Tacloban. Located on the Leyte Park Hotel ocean pier, this beautiful and smartly constructed outdoor restaurant takes advantage of the ocean breezes and scenic beauty of the Leyte-Samar straits. This restaurant has it all; very inexpensive locally caught fresh seafood, picture post card perfect scenery, friendly staff and to Philippine standards, very clean.

Typical meal for 2 to 4 people is only P400 ($10) with no hidden service charges; crispy shrimp appetizer, clam soup, 1/4kg grilled blue marlin and rice. All the food portions are for multiple people, so don’t be fooled by the menu prices. Though the cooking is simple, the freshness of the food provides all the rich flavor required. Leche flan is one of their inexpensive and delicious desserts.

The restaurant can accommodate very large crowds, which makes this a great place for dinner parties. Besides dining, there is a large gathering area on the water for photos and conversation. During the day the nice mountains of Samar and passing fishing boats are visible. On the side of the pier you can view fish swimming in the waters. Light music is normally playing, however, this restaurant is very quiet compared to the noise and loud foot traffic of the Ocho seafood restaurant closer to the center of town. Unlike Ocho, you do not have to stand in a buffet line to order your meal.

Credit cards are accepted. It is very hard to find the restaurant because there are no signs. Ask the guard at the gate to Leyte Park on Magsaysay Ave & Del Pilar. At night sometimes there are mosquitoes, so wear long pants or bring bug spray.

Top restaurants: Pier Tres, Giuseppe, Ocho, Sabbs, Rafael Farm

“SPB is now Pier Tres!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2011

Newly remodeled with cleaner, more interesting decor, same spectacular view with the sensation of floating on water! New manager with excellent attentive staff open now for breakfast lunch and dinner. Occasionally you can access free wifi when the wind and water are just right! Easy to waste hours enjoying the openers and updated, but simplified menu! I think some one was watching Chef Ramsey on hell's kitchen and picked up some great pointers.

Well worth the walk along the beachfront or down the arborized pier! Everything good thing ot was before and now more!
