Östgöta Wienercafé is a small Café situated near the Ranten subtown of Falköping. It is found in the basement in the corner of a building in the intersection of Schéelegatan and Nils Erikssonsgatan.
As the building is old and the door is not very tall you may have to bend your head to get inside. No cons about it, it is part of the old and rustic atmosphere. The café interior is clean and nice, having taken care of the forms of the old building in a new and modern manner.
The personnel is kind and friendly, especially the small and thin woman working at the counter.
The café seem to have most of their business on take-away which is understandable as the café area do not fit very many people and without the take-away it would not be a sustainable business.
Judging the range of cookies, sandwiches and cakes there is not so many things to choose from but they do also bake bread and that seems what people are buying most of.
I really like their Smörgåstårta and what they are really best at is their Semla. The Östgöta Semla is in my view the best Semla in Falköping and all 7 surrounding municipallies.
The only reason I give this cafe a very good rating instead of a excellent rating is that when I was there they only had milk for the coffee, no cream. In Sweden a real café should offer both.
I do recommend.
