A countryside retreat surprisingly close to Moscow. The house is great - a unique design with quality fixtures and fittings throughout and very comfortable. Not at all like a normal rental property. The owners were there to welcome us on arrival and were very friendly and welcoming. The road into Korolev is a bit bumpy and potholed, so it is probably best not to arrive at night. It is walkable (if you are not carrying too much), and provides all the usual conveniences if you don't want to spend all of your time in the forest. Cabs can be booked, but it could be a bit inconvenient if you want to go in to town frequently and don't have a car and are not good walkers.

There were a couple of things not made clear in the listing. The indicated pricing assumes two persons per room (there is a surcharge if not everyone wants to share), the advertised Internet had not yet been connected when we were there, and the bedrooms were without curtains. Consequently I deducted a rating point, but the latter items may just have been a sign of how new the place was, and could have been addressed by now.
