Great location above Wagrain village with access to the Rote 8er gondola via a nursery slope rope lift. Ski and boot room with heated rack, convenient ski (but not snowboard) rental and ski pass available onsite. Excellent staff, food, spa facilities (two saunas 60C and 90C, steam room, good size pool, loungers and relaxation room with water beds); perfect after a day's skiing. Wifi suitable for browsing, email, not for streaming and limited English TV channels, news only.

Highly recommended

We have been in this hotel for two consecutive years in February and we are going again next year. It s a family hotel very well run and with very helpful and pleasant staff. The rooms are nice, some more than others as it s allmost always the case. We were two adults and two boys 12 and 15. The first year we had a big room with a double bed and two singles. The second we had a suite with one bedroom and a living room transformed in a second bedroom. Obviously you have more privacy in the suite but I personally like the first one a lot.
Food is really nice. Big breakfast and good supper. They offer you some cakes and sandwiches in the afternoon which is very nice when you come back from skiing. There are two separate dining rooms and I had the impression that they reserved one for quieter guests, couples alone for example and the other one for bigger families or groups.
The spa is great with swimming pool and sauna. You can go out in the snow right from the sauna.
The hotel is next to the skilifts. There is a room for leaving your boots and skis. You can rent skis from the hotel. It s a great place for skiers but if you have non skiers in the group they can feel a bit isolated.
The hotel organises some activities, like for example a walk at night with sledges and a gluewein under the stars.
The skischool is a bit small and that can be a bit limiting depending on what you are looking for.

The Hotel Edelweiss is probably one of the nicest hotel, I've ever stayed in.
Everything there is pretty close to perfect.
Visited the hotel for the third time in six years and although the hotel has expanded with a wellness area (pool, sauna, steam room etc.) it still hasn't lost it's charm.
We booked a three day stay in a family room with half board (i.e. breakfast and dinner included) and the food was excellent. The breakfast table was abundant and the five course menu in evening was also very good. For the main course you typically get to choose between meat, fish or vegetarian.
The place is run by a very friendly Austrian family and I don't where they get their staff, but certainly how to hire people that are service minded beyond what you would normally expect. Friendly, polite and always ready for a chat without being intrusive at all.
As we sat a the dinner table with the most stunning view you could imagine, I couldn't stop thinking about when we would able to return to this place.
The hotel is by no means cheap, but it is worth every penny and I cannot recommend it enough.

Last summer was a tough one. I badly needed a vacation, and discovered this place by accident. If you search for an escape, this is the best place. Located high in the mountains, it offers fresh air, stunning views, locally grown bio food, relaxing spa (not allowing children till 16yo), great massage sellection. I have never relaxed in my life to such an extent.
Food was more then excellent.
Tasteful design combining modernity and tradition.
Looking forward to find the time to come back.

This resort has given us memories we will cherish forever! In fact we are planning a return trip already and we just got home!! It provided us with an "Austrian Experience" most folks can only dream off. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful accommodations and clean, clean, clean pools, and spa areas with breath taking views, incredibly delicious farm fresh food beautifully prepared and presented (definitely take advantage of their half-board which includes both a fabulous breakfast and dinner with a snack around 3:00pm) and wonderful service by a caring and attentive staff. I could go on and on but, until you experience this incredible place and the wonderful people there you will never fully appreciate what it has to offer!!! Truly a Mountain Paradise not to be missed!
