Staff are so well mannered and really make an effort all of the time, night or day. Its right in the middle of a beautiful place, really nice long walks, sort journey on bus from town, really pleasant people, I've been 6 times and will deffinatly be going again, met really nice people whom I still keep in contact with, I would recommend this hotel to anyone!! Absolutely beautiful food, deserts to die for! Austria is by far the only place I would travel to, really has made my experience amazing!!! Rooms are so clean and really well spaced, there is so much to do in this hotel alone without leaving! There are great day time girls who rum a kids club and have dances in the bar for them one evening a week and again for the older crowed also! Deffinatly a terrific hotel!

Again we decided to stay at this hotel for our skiing trip. This time on a self catering basis. What we like about the rooms is that the 2 extra beds in the lounge are not Austrian doubles which means my 2 older childern aged 14 and 18 dont have to share a bed which is in the case of many Austrian hotel/ apartment. Top marks again although there could be a little more equiptment in the kitchen maybe. Again a great stay!

Room Tip: choose a lake view and avoid the down stairs corridor as it becomes a bit of a rat run for kids!!

We stayed in this hotel recently for our summer holiday and we loved it.
The place is spotless - as always with Austria. The staff whilst of a different nature to us (Irish) were really friendly and made an effort with the kids (two aged 7 and 9)
There is a kids club, but mine didnt want to do any of the activities. I think it was a language thing.
There are 2 pools one indoor and one out......and the outdoor one has a slide too. There are also different play areas outside, that have climbling frames, swings and a trampoline. There is also an area to basketball and an outdoor chess area aswell as a games room with a couple of table tennis tables and a couple of pool tables, air hockey and a few arcade game. The indoor bowling alley is old a rustic but we liked it.
We were all inclusive - the food was DELISH .. the kids had a great choice and could have smaller versions of the adults, mine did and then sometimes went to the kids buffet for more dinner.
We loved the breakfast, lunch and the dinner. Kids drinks and wine and beer etc are also included. I was on the red wine and it was very drinkable and hubby had no complaints with the beer ! there was also coffee, cake and ice cream every afternoon too if you wanted it.
Plenty to do around the area. The tobbgan place was great, but we had a few safety issues.
Good walks and trips... will be back !!!!

Room Tip: If you travel with Crystal.... they dont do double rooms with a lake view...... we had a ground floor single and could almost spit in the pool...... and paid 300.00 less with a view !!!

We recently stayed with a 8 yr old and 6 yr old. We were impressed by the amount of things on offer by this hotel. All the promised activites were available and accessable without a fight or a queue. 3 table tennis tables, air hockey, bikes, trampoline, climbing frame and more. No tacky fighting for sunbeds here! The food was excellent for all inclusive and partly served at the table by waiters, most of whom made a real effort with the children. Inside and outside pools open until 10pm, which we were made to make the most of! We used the kids club on an ad hoc basis when the children fancied doing what was on offer. although mainly german, the english was good enough and atmosphere friendly enough for them not to feel intimidated by this.
The scenery around is stunning with easy walks and bike rides from the hotel. free buses in the area to reach other walking trails. Of course the summer toboggan was a big hit.
We did the crytal excursion to salzburg which we really enjoyed. You do need to check on excursions though as the transport can pick up other parties leaving a long journey and not much time at the other end. This depends on the direction of the destination.
We were unlucky with the weather during our stay, however even when raining we still had a great holiday and the children LOVED it.

Most reviews cover excellent acommodation, location and food etc so we thought we'd comment on a few different things.
1. We got a great Thompson internet deal £495 each full board for a week so paid 105 euros for a lake view room upgrade by e mailing the hotel direct beforehand- the mountain view room we were allocated to originally was perfectly adequate (we were given it by mistake on arrival) but bore no semblance to the beautiful lake view and mountain vista -well worth the extra believe us -Wine on the balcony looking out was brilliant.
2. Bikes are free! Make use of them and follow some of the fantastic routes through Alpine valleys -you don't have to do mountain biking unless you want to -scenery along the trails is glorious.
3. The guest card from the hotel which you are given entitles you to free bus travel in the Kaiser Winkl region- this is as far as Kossen one way to and Kufstein the other (Kufstein is outside the region so there is a 2.60 euro supplement) - many villages in between too.The bus stops are outside the hotel front door and run once an hour
4. There is a good cable car up the Unterhorn from Kossen and great coffee/cake shop opposite the church- watch the para gliders jump
5. Get the local map and trail routes from the Tourist Info in Walchsee 6.95 euro it's a must- you can pick and chose were to go etc
6. One big negative for us is that after evening meal (you can chose 18.00 or 20.00 sitting-we chose the later to allow longer days) entertainment is about zero bar the one Tyrolean evening (that is free). Other than hotel bars the place is like a morgue after 20.00- but if you've been before you know Austria is like that- we did a small round of other hotels bars Schlik, Brunner and Panorama. Walchsee is more isolated than most though so no rep's doing quiz or bowling nights etc.-expect early nights!
7. One of the best things about full board is that you are encouraged to prepare your own packed lunch from the breakfast buffet. You are given a carry bag/plastic bags/carton drinks/cereal bar- we typically added two ham/cheese rolls each, youghuts, fruit and anything else you might want. Tip- take a flask with you you can make your own tea/coffee too
8. Finally expect Germans- no problem very sedate and civil but expect 95% German occupancy- so nearly everything is German related-announcements/entertainment (there was Bingo one night)- a few words helps but you might find a phrase book helpful!
