Agree with pretty much everything the previous reviewer said. The hotel is full of authentic Turkish atmosphere and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Dinner on the terrace overlooking rolling hills planted with olives and cyprus was a magical way to end a holiday in Turkey. The location is ideal for Ephesus. The village though now with a rather touristy market was pretty and it was interesting to see mainly Turkish visitors on day trips over the weekend. The service was very attentive. There is quite a lot of very late noise from the village at least at the weekend so not the best night's sleep. I would love to come back to this place one day.

This was a lovely spot to finish up a wonderful 2 week trip to Turkey. After staying in bigger hotels and resorts during our stay it was nice to experience a smaller, village based inn. The rooms were lovely and our family really enjoyed the beautiful gardens where we relaxed before dinner playing backgammon with a glass of wine. It was a great spot for visiting Ephesus. I have read many reviews of the village of Sirince generally that talk about how noisy it is at night -- I do have to say that to stay here you need to embrace the idea that the village noises continue through the night (in addition to barking dogs, etc, we could hear a 3am drummer in the village that was waking people before the Ramadan fasting began) but this would be true of anywhere you stay in Sirince. Finally, I will say that the staff at Gullu Konaklari couldn't have been more friendly and happy to help.

I loved this place and I loved Sirince! We had only booked for one night, but I wish it had been longer. The grounds and the views were absolutely perfect, picturesque and beautiful. The breakfast spread was gorgeous and delicious, set in the most wonderful courtyard. Our room was small but quaint and set in a lovely flower garden. There was no wifi, so if that's important to you, be warned.

Nearby Ephesus is not to be missed. I've been to many sites of ancient excavations, but I've never seen anything as large and interesting as Ephesus. You really get a feeling for what it was like to live there.

I agree with some of the reviewers who said that the town of Sirince is kind of touristy now. We had fun walking through and shopping, but it does seem to exist mostly to sell you stuff. But the fact remains that the area is so beautiful and unspoiled that it should not be missed.

The property has a certain charm, a bit like a French chateau. However it feels that it is not being cared for. The garden was beginning to get quite overgrown, and the room was showing signs of neglect.

But our biggest disappointment was the village of Sirince. It's a tourist honeypot, and the worst sort. At weekends it is packed with tourists, and there are quite a few on weekdays. The place is just filled with shops selling tourist tat. Any charm it once had has long since gone. There are few other hotels in the village. Guide books suggest it is the place to stay, so demand has pushed up the price of rooms. My advice is to give Sirince a miss.

We had a beautiful little suite near the rose gardens. The bed was comfortable, we loved sharing wine on our terrace, and the bathroom was quite comfortable (I wish the water could have been hotter). The staff was completely concerned with our comfort and happiness.
The traditional Turkish breakfast is gigantic and the dinner we has there while looking over their gardens and the valley were stunning. You are literally steps away from a tiny village with a bazaar and many dining options.

A group of us recently spent 2 nights at Gullu-K as a base for exploring Ephesus ruins. The village of Sirince is a good stop after hotels in larger towns. It is easy to walk and has good restaurants and bars. The guesthouse is attractive and clean with the usual and unavoidable drawbacks of steps and stairs - but helpful staff on check-in. The drawbacks to our downstairs villa was a persistent musty smell - no doubt due to trapped bathwater under tiles or in a bulkhead. Our upstairs room was fresh and sunny. The service was patchy at mealtimes, hard to get waiters attention for a second coffee at breakfast. They obviously found the garden breakfast area difficult to service from the kitchen. The night we had dinner at Gullu-K, no one in our group liked the food. Without wanting to overstate the criticism - the roast lamb was cold and fatty - and there was a suspicion it was yesterday's roast reheated for the night. It was also expensive. Maybe we would have dined better on a different night. That can happen.
