I stopped here for dinner before catching the bus back to my hotel in Kusadasi. It is a family restaurant, and the chef was very friendly. He explained the restaurant is named after his son. They were incredibly welcoming and liked to chat. I had the "Hunter's Pie" which the chef said was his specialty and something he was proud of. It was absolutely delicious and I haven't encountered it again in my travels in Turkey so far. Also a note for Aussies: the chef spent 3 years in Brisbane!

This gem of a restaurant deserves its accolades for being award-winning. First off, we love Turkish food. It is not only incredibly tasty, it feels good after you've eaten it. Expecting another fine Turkish meal, we were blown away by the subtle flavors chef Ibrahim Yaman achieved. We started by ordering conservatively...again, just expecting another meal. After the first course arrived we kept ordering and ordering and ordering, sometimes even two of the same meal. You won't be disappointed.

I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary when my friends and I decided to stop by Ege for a light lunch of mezes in their charming outdoor courtyard. After all, it's located in the extremely touristy village of Sirince. However, the quality and variety of the mezes really amazed us. The stuffed squash blossoms and the nettle salad were among the simply but beautifully prepared dishes. The young manager (owner?) was very personable and helpful, and also passionate about food, When he found out we were foodies with a real interest in herbs and other local ingredients, he snipped several fresh herbs from their pots and brought them to our table for impromptu sniff tests. He also shared several recipes with us, and told us all about local pomegranate and grape extracts. What an unexpected and wonderful find this place was!
