If you are looking for a unique hotel experience the Nisanyan Evleri will not dissapoint. My wife and I stayed in house #1 and loved it. The upstairs bedroom has true Ottoman charm. The restaurant was excellent. The breakfasts are delivered to your house in a basket the night before. The pool was dissapointingly cold. It was very hot during our stay at the Nisanyan and the beautiful pool was icy the entire day. The property is large and very well maintained. The houses are located on a village street and the cottages a few hundred meters above the village. The staff were excellent and the village people were very welcoming.
Thank you for a very memorable experience Sevan.

One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at. The Nisanyan cottages are beautifully set on a hill overlooking the beautiful, tiny town of Sirince. Surrounded by fruit trees, herb gardens, a few chickens and roosters, and gloriously plush scenery, this is a perfect base for exploring Ephesus, Selcuk, and the surrounding areas. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful. There's a lovely swimming pool too. Highly recommended!

The hotel is located just above the town of Sirince. It is in a gorgeous setting, overlooking the town and valley. The hotel offers various types of accomodation, and we chose one of the chalets. The building was a beautifully restored farm building, keeping with the traditional design and maintaining a rustic country charm. There was an indoor and outdoor fireplace, with also a sitting area inside and outside with table and chairs. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. The breakfast was provided in our fridge, which was plentiful and diverse. We had breakfast outside in the sun, which was special. We also had dinner in the restaurant the night before, and it was amazing. The quality and ingredients were excellent, and also in keeping with the country theme. The town itself is somewhat underwhelming, as it has unfortunately become very touristy. It definitely maintains some of its Turkish personality, yet to experience this it is recommended to stay the night and avoid the tour crowds during the day. The architecture is definitely very beautiful but there are many tourist shops. The service at the hotel was great, from check-in to check-out, in the restaurant, and also when planning the following stages of our trip. There is a computer with internet access, and it is free. I believe they also had wifi in the main building. The road to the hotel is not as described by another traveller, it is a winding country road, yet anybody who has been on dirt roads before will not find it at all complicated, even by night. It is only a max 5min ride from the main street. The only drawback is that by Turkish standards the hotel is expensive, yet there is definite value for money and thus I would return for the beautiful setting, food, and country hotel experience.

This was my second stay in the Platform Bed house part of the Nişanyan Evleri. This house is spacious, and has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is the living/dining room with fireplace, and a small kitchen. The breakfasts provided in the hamper each morning were an excellent assortment of fresh jams, olives, eggs, sausages, cheese, tomatoes, and a bread freshly baked the previous evening.
My wife loved the house's decor, and the platform bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom was spacious, with a large skylight and natural stone featured in the shower surround.
Although there is a good restaurant at the main house, there are plenty of cheaper eating places in the village when you walk down the hill. The walk back to the house will help burn calories, and take a torch if you are planning to walk back after sunset.
There were constant noises during the night and early morning that you hopefully will get used to. Dogs barking, roosters crowing, donkeys braying, goats bleating and birds chirping, plus the early morning prayer call from the local mosque.
Unfortunately constant busloads of tourists during the day have changed the feel of this village. There are lots of stalls selling goods located all around the major walkways. After sunset the village takes on a quieter atmosphere.
I notice that even this hotel is expanding with more cottages being built on the back part of their property. With the increase in cottages, some of the personal touch is lost as you become just another customer, which would be a real shame. Some staff gave the impression they were busy with lots of things to do, and guests asking questions was an inconvenience. I hope this is not common for others that stayed here.
Maybe we just struck them when they were very busy!
I didn't think the single lane road winding around the hillside to the hotel was that bad, and we passed oncoming traffic at slightly wider sections.
We certainly enjoyed our stay here, and it is close to Ephesus (10km away).
If you get a chance, visit the markets in the Selçuk town center on Saturdays. Lots of colour, and good prices on fruit and vegetables, as well as clothing and other goods.

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the cottages high above the village of Sirence
It had a lovely view of the village where you could walk the cobblestone ways down into town. The return trip was strenuous but a good work out. Sirence is about 6 miles from Ephesus up a steep but manageable country road.

The cottage had old world charm and even a fireplace with wood provided for nightly
fire to keep us cozy.
The most fun was lighting the wood burning water heater every night for showering.
( Help was available for those not comfortable or successful with this operation)
A fabulous new cottage was completed while we were there and has modern water heater for those not liking the rustic charms.
Breakfasts were served outside on lovely patio and food was abundant and very good.
Nightly dining was offered at the inn in a romantic setting overlooking Sirence.

Many other reviews here speak warmly about the Nisanyan, which is precisely why we had booked it. I would echo most of what you will read about its unique character, the great views from the top of the hill, the friendly proprietor, and so on.

As you will see my rating is 4/5 so I should explain why I didn't award it the full 5. Two things: firstly, while the bedroom was beautifully and individually decorated, the pillows on the bed are quite lumpy and unyielding, making for slightly squashed ears every night. This was exacerbated by the need for earplugs due to the noise coming up from the village beneath. A small objection but it did make the stay a little less relaxing than I had hoped.

The food in the restaurant is fantastic, but it's worth also making the walk down the steps to the village where there are several other good (and less expensive) restaurants such as the Artemis. It's worth taking a torch with you for the return walk up the hill as it's quite dark at some points along the way.

There is a small swimming pool a short walk from the main hotel building but it is unheated and therefore not really usable out of season.

The drive up to the hotel along the dirt track leading from the edge of the village is a little bit hairy; the surface is deeply rutted and you certainly wouldn't want to meet another vehicle coming in the opposite direction. Ideally you would drive it in daylight for the first time - I didn't unfortunately. But I soon got used to it.

We took a family vacation to Turkey, including our six year old daughter, and spent three nights at the Nasanyan. We were initially a little taken aback by the road leading to the Inn--a narrow dirt road that winds up a steep hill. It took us a few minutes to figure out where to check in, but once we sorted that out, we were taken to our room. Our luggage was sent with a man on a motorbike with a large basket and we followed our host up a a pretty and winding path to our cottage.

The setting is just amazing--beautiful views, peaceful, lovely landscaping. Our cottage was cozy and comfortable and included two bedrooms plus a bathroom. The only downside was that you had to step outside to access the bathroom and the other bedroom. Our daughter did not want to sleep in the room by herself if she had to go outside to come to our room or use the bathroom in the middle of the night (although she loved having a room to herself to play in). This particular set up would work better for families with older children who don't mind having to step outside to reach the bathroom. Not all cottages have this floor plan, but it is something to be aware of. The bathroom was large, but water was heated using a wood burning stove, so you had to wake up and heat your water before showering. This wasn't a big problem since it gave you the chance to enjoy an INCREDIBLE homemade breakfast. The food was amazing. Truly a highlight. We ate so much at breakfast that we skipped lunch and went to the Nasanyan's restaurant for dinner (all three nights!) and enjoyed more of their fabulous food.

The location on the hilltop makes for gorgeous views of Sirince and the surrounding area. There are chickens walking around the grounds and you could hear a donkey somewhere in the distance. All of this made for a very relaxing and slower-paced leg of our trip. We rented a car and were very glad we did. It was much easier to get around with a car and driving was not a problem in the area as the streets were well marked and generally not too busy.

The hotel is close to Ephesus--a must see attraction--and we also visited Priene and Kusadisi. We would recommend this hotel to families and couples who want to explore the area and want to experience the Turkish countryside. The Nasanyan is like a bed and breakfast--lots of charm, with a cozy and friendly atmosphere.
