“Wonderful trip, great crew, beautiful spot!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

I preferred this trip (to Lana'i) to the one we took to Molokini (with another company, which did very well). Fewer people at this site, and we saw more types of fish here. Lana'i also had an abundance of types of coral which I had not seen before. Also swam with a turtle for awhile. We rented one of their cameras. If you do this, it's a good idea to try it out before you get in the water to get used to the functions. My husband's later videos and pictures were much better than the first ones he took. But it's a great option, and we're very glad we did it -- so much better than the underwater disposable cameras! Crew was great -- helpful and friendly. I loved having a naturalist on board, and pestered her with many questions. I thought the food was fine. Didn't see any dolphins, but the crew can't do anything about that other than take us to where they live. I really liked the presence of a lifeguard on the water (they train all of their crew as lifeguards). Great job! Would definitely go with PWF again!

“Great Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

We took the "Molokini Wild Side" snorkeling tour. The three staff were exceedingly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We ended up stopping to snorkel at three spots, given the group and timing that day, and we ran into a large group of dolphins midway back from Molokini so we watched them for a while.

Make sure you have sun protection (the boat is almost all exposed with very little shade). They had plenty of drinks and food on board. The equipment is decent and they have prescription masks, which was helpful for me.

“service needs improvement”

It's all about the service you get from the people who represent PWF, and some of them represent the organization much better than others.

“great boat trip lousy food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

The crew was fantastic! The boat ride worth every penny. No one else offers an all day boat ride at this price. We did not see dolphins and we saw more variety of fish while snorkeling off of airport beach but still loved the ride. The food, not so much. Breakfast consisted of a very small muffin or a 1/3 of an apple pastry along with a slice of pineapple. Lunch was slightly better but still very much a disappointment. The 'main course' was fine (hot dog veggie burger or chicken breast) but the sides were not. A zuchini salad(sliced with a dressing) a cucumber salad and a pasta salad. If you are traveling with kids, bring snacks! Fortunately we had snacks or we would have been starving. As it was, we were searching for food shortly after getting off the boat. Take the trip, bring food

“Worth it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

I research so much looking for a boat snorkeling trip...I wanted a small crowd, non touristic, for a fair price..
I was late and everything was sold out. First tip:make your reservation with at least 5 days or more ahead...
Reluctantly, we reserve with this company, figuring that at least it was a Foundation. It was too early ( 6.15 am...) and more than 100 people...
The fact that it was so early was perfect because we were the first group in each of the places we visit!
The 100+ people was no problem, it was a nice big catamaran-boat, seating in real seats. We were able to walk around. It was a perfect boat for a diverse group, kids, or seniors.
The crew was perfect, young students, naturalists...they gave a class about different sea species, etc and when snorkeling, one of them gave a tour trying to find different fishes and turtles ( too many people but nice as well) while we were snorkeling..
We went to Molokini Crater and Turtle arches. It was beautiful. I understand some people may not have seen much but for us beginners we saw plenty, including swiming with the turtles....
Lunch was delicious. I rather have a bbq lunch that a deli one...may not be important if the focus is the snorkeling one but it is a plus...
Tips: do rent the underwater camera, it works! our pictures came out great, they give you a cd right after the trip...
Do rent the wet suit, it works as well, nice and warm...
